Does the Protect integration give notifications on the phone display for things like doorbell ring, motion detection, etc. when just powered up? Or do you have to be actively using the protect app on the phone to see those events?

This really needs a caller app on PC that lets you dial numbers on the PC. So much easier to copy+paste numbers or call straight from a database. This would be game changer for them.

Nice Video Cody. We use talk it is great we switched from Ring Central and save about 130 dollars a month. The touch screen on the "Touch" is very sensitive. When you scroll on the recent calls it will call the person you first touch to scroll. You can make Video calls from the "Touch Max" however not the "Touch" you can receive them tho. They have to improve the BlueTooth as well some headsets work but missing one important functionality. Answer/Hangup on the headsets we test does not work you have to use the phone screen. In all it is a pretty good system.

Just set up a group and assign a phone number to the group. Every phone assigned to that group will also be assigned to that number.

how well does the phone screen work viewing the 360 cams? I heard a while back it just shows the whole view as a circle on the viewport, wonder if they fixed that

Just noticed you can now do Video Calls from the UTP Touch Max on firmware 2.1.458! Oddly enough you can initiate a video call from a Max to a standard UTP Touch, but not the other way around. Suspect the feature will be added for the UTP touch in the next firmware release. Video quality is great, very excited for this feature. Can't wait for the Access integration!

Hi, your videos on Unifi are great. I've been researching this and don't see the answer although it may be obvious. Can you have multiple lines on the same phone? If I have 4 lines will it allow me to answer and call out from whatever line choose? For instance line 1 will ring a user or group but not lines 2,3 and 4? At the same time I could pick up on lines 2,3 or 4 if I choose to? Also, do you offer services like remotely doing the basic Talk setup? Thanks.

Hey Cody appreciate you videos here in Germany. Will all connected Touch Phones have access to the Protect Cameras ? A nice feature would be an option to limit access to specific phones like in hotel rooms or sth.

You have to sign in with a single sign on. So on the phones you want to view your cameras you would sign in

My biggest frustration with the flex is I haven't yet figured out how to change the ringer. Seems like a pretty basic function but I can't find it!

It would be cool to have a "cordless" phone version of this. So you still have the touch or touch max type display, but the handheld would be wireless. I am in the process of taking two businesses and putting them in one building (same owner). I could see a phone for each business but answerable from either. and on the hand unit it would just say the call was from XX and incoming to business 1 or business 2.

Toughest part for us is that there isn't a cordless option. Currently getting numbers ported over from previous carrier, then we'll be testing if we can somehow use the cordless phones we had previously with the setup.

Use the analog phone adapter to connect a cordless phone. Also, the phones have a bluetooth option to use a bluetooth headset.

Do you think Unifi will ever release a dedicated Talk appliance, to split the load off from the UDM Pro/SE? Would certainly allow for larger deployments.

You can use a cloud key gen2 plus as a dedicated appliance if you’d like and you can allow it to only run the talk application. Not the best solution but it is a solution.

What happens when someone rings your doorbell does it pop up on the screen? When you set up a vlan for talk is the PC data passthrough on the same network or can you choose?

The camera on Touch works if you call from the Touch Max to the Touch from the directory and choose the video call option.

I am a phone installer. the most important feature is intercom from phone to phone in the office. Does this phone include intercom? also, can it be hands free, Talk to another extension via speaker?

What you do is call the other phone from your phone list and it acts just like an intercom. Can do it hands free or with the handset.

I just wish they made the Touch Max in White like the Touch model. I have purchased a Flex and a Touch (in White) and as soon as I get the Ethernet cables run, I will be setting these up and getting off of Spectrum VoIP. They are currently charging me $40.00 a month for one line. It should be much cheaper going with UniFi Talk instead.

you are incorrect about the extra port on the back. that IS a passthrough port, not for the handset. the handset port is on the bottom edge of the phone.

The Talk product really looks like it is not ready for prime time. After looking at the support page there are many open issues unresolved and basic functionality missing, including simple things like caller ID and working properly with headsets, with no indication if it will ever be added. Very disappointing as this looks like it could be a great solution, but was released way too early and with too many issues and bugs. Figuring out how to do things seems to be through the community page as published documentation is extremely thin.
