Nice video but you didn't show how it works in making a call from the analog phone. Does it have a normal dial tone when you lift the handset like a normal POTS line?

If they had a more robust solution, perhaps it would be worth looking at, but it's just a subscription service when their product is geared toward those who favor local control, storage, and management. I don't see talk doing much of anything for the foreseeable future.

Odd question. Can a rotary phone be used with this? My wife wants a rotary phone and if it works then hopefully she will let me buy the UniFi equipment I want.

if it works on a landline, it will work with the Unifi Talk ATA. At least that's what my experience has proven to me

Probably depends if the rotary phone has a mechanical or electronic ringer. Mechanic ringers take much more power.

On the Unifi Website it states the function does DND, Call Waiting, Call Transfer and Threeway Call. I assume if these functions are available you can direct dial extensions from a handset on the ATA, are you able to release another video demonstrating these functions please? Unifi could have detailed these functions a bit clearer..... By the way, your awesome, love your videos espcially the installs.

Can you use the ATA to bring into the Unifi System an analogy exchange line that can be used when SIP drops out?

It's been a year. Could I tie this into the current phone systems and have every phone on that line 1? And treat it like a converter? Short of it is this. Parents had their POTS service cut from the provider in an effort to "UPGRADE" their service. If they can't have POTS, then they will just be better to get an VOIP service and just get a sip and this. Just need every phone to work. All phones are powered through an ac adapter. Just need one to pick up and any of them to pick up during that same call and continue with the call.

I was using my 1937 gpo232 rotary phone for my everyday phone before I got my landline out. Not I'm getting fibre broadband and a voip line comes with it. will this enable me to connect my rotary phone or do I need an ata with more settings?

Can anyone confirm if the ATA supports Direct Ring Pattern (DRPD) for fax machines? I see that the T38 protocol is supported for fax but no indication if DRPD is. This will provide a different ring pattern so a fax will answer a call before voicemail kicks in.

I have one question. Is the voice quality better or the same between the phone adapter or using straight digital voip through a UI router? I've got a phone adapter for another company and the voice quality is not great.

I need something like this (connects analog phone) BUT with a sim card slot for getting 4G. I want to use pre paid cell sim card service instead of paying for any VoIP services. I have seen such 4G routers with Sim slot and RJ11 BUT they usually do not pick up American bands, only B5. It would be even better if I could pick up B66/B71. Anyone have suggestions? Thank you.

I’m looking into this. I have an ISP voip provider. All of our phones are setup outside of ubiquiti. I want to convert our fax line to voip with an ata adapter. I would normally use Cisco spa ata device but saw this. I have a dream machine. Can I use this ata to connect to my isp voip provider? Or do I have to setup a talk subscription etc? Should I just buy the Cisco spa ata for this single use case?

you can, thats how i setup the ATA at my house, however i havent been able to get caller id to work on the analog phones off the ATA

Just power on with the included USBC adapter - making sure it isn't connected to the LAN. The system will automatically adopt itself to a Unifi wifi network. I don't think it will work if the wifi network is not Unifi..

Well got mine I can receive calls in but it won't dial out my 7inch talk phone is working but not this ata. I use Twilio.
