Thanks Frank. Appreciate you watching. Actually, I’m releasing an update to this video on Saturday. I overlooked something in the original video, so I need to make it right.

Hi Tony, out of the box the GWN series are better not because of the speed but because is completely ridiculous that to install 3 or 4 APs on a home you need to install or buy a controller. Having said that, if you had putted the Unifi light AP on the 5 GHz AND 80MHz band ( Not 40MHz as it installs by default ) you can reach also 550 Mbps exactly like the GWN series. Still, having to have a controller for small/home installations makes no sense going with Unifi over GWN.

Hi Pedro, point noted about the channel width. Never gave that a thought, just took them both out of the box. So…in all fairness, next week I will release an updated version of this video. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Have a great day and thanks for watching.

As always, great content, super informative and a pleasure to watch. I have to admit, i'm kinda a unifi fanboy myself

I am more of a hardware geek than software but have the most experience with Unifi working at an MSP for a decade and now sysadminning for a nonprofit who is a mix of meraki and unifi. I am not afraid to explore alternatives so snagged a 7660 for actually a few schmeckles less than a 6 Lite goes for. I think GS is a winner in the AP space. I have also configured Omada and prefer GS still. The performance numbers are pretty clear, thanks for the comparison. I suppose my only wonder is how long GS plans to support their 11ax models because that is another opportunity to outdo Unifi.

Thanks for watching! GS is solid getting more & more into the networking space by releasing a series of managed layer 2 & 3 switches, along with an unmanaged switch line as well. I think they’ll be supporting them for quite some time. Have a great day!

GWN is 30% larger, and well, its against a "lite" version hardly a good comparison, that said I am no fan of the ubnt junk anyway

Hello Ressy6, the two are actually very similar spec-wise. Yes, while the GWN is larger than the U6Lite, it is considerably smaller in comparison to the standard size GS APs like the 7630. So, with that in mind, the 7660 is similar in size to the U6 Lite in my opinion anyway. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
