It's too early to waste your time and money worrying about Wi-Fi 7 it's not even standardized it won't even be standardized until the middle of 2025 so realistically why worry about it until 2026 or 2027 and hopefully by then more companies will have Wi-Fi 7 products out in the market like TVs computers game consoles and things that actually support Wi-Fi 7 that was the issue with Wi-Fi 6E there is barely any devices that even supported it even in 2024 that's for there's only a handful of Wi-Fi 6E devices

AI Spec Comparison with U6 Enterprise: 🤖💻 Both the U7 Pro and U6 Enterprise devices come with unique features and share some common characteristics. Here's a comparison of both devices: 🚀 Performance: - U6 Enterprise supports greater throughput (4.8 Gbps at both 5 GHz and 6 GHz and 573.5 Mbps at 2.4 GHz). In comparison, U7 Pro has 2.882 Gbps at 5 GHz, 5.765 Gbps at 6 GHz, and 688 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. - U6 Enterprise also supports a larger number of concurrent clients (600+) compared to U7 Pro's 300+ clients. 📡 MIMO: - U6 Enterprise has 2x2 (UL MU-MIMO), 4x4 (DL/UL MU-MIMO) at both 5 GHz and 6 GHz, while U7 pro has 2x2 MIMO for all bands. 💫 Wi-Fi Standards: - U6 Enterprise supports up to Wi-Fi 6E, whereas U7 Pro supports up to Wi-Fi 7. 🏗 Construction: - U6 Enterprise has an aluminum enclosure while U7 Pro uses Polycarbonate and metal. U6 Enterprise is slightly heavier than the U7 Pro. ⚙ Connectivity: - U6 Enterprise also has a Bluetooth Management interface, which the U7 Pro does not. 🎁 Additional Features: - U6 Enterprise supports Zero-wait DFS with upcoming firmware, not specified with U7 Pro. Based on these features, it seems like the U6 Enterprise is more robust and capable of supporting more clients and higher data rates. However, the U7 Pro supports more advanced WiFi standard (WiFi 7). 👍 Your choice between the two should depend on your specific needs. If you need to support a larger number of clients and prioritize higher data speed, the U6 Enterprise would be better. However, if you want a device that supports the most recent wifi standards and is somewhat lighter, the U7 Pro might be your pick. 🤔 Please note that both devices have great features, and their effectiveness can hinge on many factors, including your specific use case, environment, and other network hardware.👌👩‍💻

Great to have 2.5 Gbps Ethernet on the Wifi Pro version, on this price point, but Wifi 7 is supposed proposing up to 5.7 Gbps , so 1 unique 2.5 Gbps will be not enough for covering the full bandwidth.

Unfortunately we need a 2.5Gbps PoE switch to really take advantage of this. The cheapest one Ubiquity sells is the Enterprise 8 PoE at $640 CAD, and I don't like because it is not rack mount and does not match rest of my equipment. I am hoping they come out with an upgraded UDM SE with 2.5Gbps PoE+ ports along with some regular 2.5Gbps LAN ports.

I'm hoping you can test MLO in real life! Not for the speed, but let's say you're on a call (internet) and you move out of the 5 (or 6) GHz range of the AP you're connected to. Your call will freeze and/or drop while your device connects to another AP. With MLO it could keep the call/connection going on the 2,4GHz band on the original AP, switch to 5/6GHz on a closer AP, and then afterwards move the 2,4GHz connection as well. If this works, I think this would be one of the more exciting features that users will actually feel a difference with. PS. I haven't read enough about Wifi7 and MLO to know if it support connection to two different wifi7 APs at the same time, but I do hope so!

What I've been waiting for, I plan on upgrading some of my AP's to Wifi 7 this year. Will U7 pro fit a U6 pro or U6 LR mount? Edit: Update: I ordered WIFI 7 pro =) Not a bad price! I'll have the Max pro 24 in a few months so take advantage of this. I'll also be replacing all of my indoor access points with it. I do have a 2.5Gbps Internet connection, upgrading to 5Gbps later this year once it's available in my area.

@@JacksonCampbell Simple: I'm interested initially in the 2.4Ghz band (where U7 Pro is a touch better), plus i'm interested in futureproofing. I would hope to add a U7 Enterprise in the mix later on. U6 Enterprise has advantages for dense areas, which is not my use case, even U7 Pro is overpowered.

Great informative video. The U7-Pro is looking more comparable to the U6-Lite from the previous generation, given that they downgraded the bands from 4x4 to 2x2. This should be priced more in line with the u6-lite at $99.

Don’t forget that even with 4x4 mimo, the predecessor model u6 pro was limited by a 1 gbps uplink whereas this guy has a 2.5 Gbps uplink. So connected clients on the predecessor model could not transmit beyond the Ethernet line rate of 1 gbps whereas this guy will allow for up to 2.5x the transfer rate. And plus this guy has 320 MHz channels vs 160 MHz for the predecessor. So this guy is much better for 2x2 clients in the 6 GHz band which the predecessor didn’t even support. So which is better 4x4 mimo at 1 gbps uplink or 2x2 mimo with 2.5 gbps uplink? Most client devices are 2x2 mimo anyways only the access points and routers seem to do 4x4. Please Correct me if I’m wrong.

@@j340_official @nilstrabant1870 Neither of you are correct. MIMO and speed are totally different. MIMO allows multiple simultaneous streams. The more streams the better. 2x2 means 2 1x1 clients communicating at once. 4x4 means 2 2x2 clients communicating simultaneously. Lots of clients doing lots of tasks will run better with more streams, but it doesn't mean any or all combined are using close to a gigabit.

@@SnowBob302 Given the 2.5 Gbps uplink, I assume it is not for the U7 Pro for the reason. With that, couldn't you just get a Flex with PoE++ power adapter input, then you would have 4x 1Gbps PoE+ ports? Would be far cheaper at $128 total... unless you are asking for the 2.5 Gbps connection to a U7 Pro and others, in which case, why not an Enterprise 8 PoE? $479. For most people, upgrading to Wi-Fi 7 won’t be worth it on its own. The average user won’t notice a significant difference in speed or performance since the current Wi-Fi 6 is more than capable of meeting most users needs. Also, TP-Link has the Deco BE95 and Archer BE900 which are Wifi 7 and came way before Ubiquiti released this.

WiFi 7's new Multi-link operation (MLO) should actually be a big deal once client devices start rolling out.. The Wi-Fi alliance JUST announced WiFi 7 certification as of today.

@@MactelecomNetworks indeed, the AP is affordable, however, you need the Unifi ecosystem to make it work, which sends the cost over the TP-Links which will work standalone.
