@@NbaGraal I don't remember my salary but for the time period of the 80's it was good money with overtime opportunities. I believe we made more money than SS agents did. There are good lateral movement opportunities as well as opportunities to move to other federal agencies. You can work details for the President and other dignitaries within the U.S. govt and visiting foreign diplomats.

This is their uniformed division. They're required to engage with the public in their duties, and part of engaging with the public is building relations with them, to include making videos and sharing information on social media. So in a way, it actually does make sense. As far as them making videos about anything they do mission/investigation wise, that's a different beast.

It was Xmas before last when we were having to stay at the Ronald McDonald house because our daughter was admitted at Children's hospital and the secret service escorted Mr and Mrs Claus for the children. I got to talk to one of the agents and he was super cool.

If you are around or near the White House, you will for sure run into a Secret Service officer on a bike! I've had conversations with a few of them myself. Some of them are cool regular guys! I had a conversation with one on a bike about my tints, since they are super dark, lol! He was a very cool guy, and you could tell that he loves his job! Here in Washington D.C. you will come across so many different police forces. If I'm correct, we have the most heavily policed city in the country as far as having so many different types of police. We may not have as many as NYC as far as numbers, but we definitely have the many different divisions, for sure! There is a police force for everything in this city, even down to Special Police! I guess they do it that way so they don't have to take city police away from their jobs for every little situation!

It's similar to the uniformed division of other federal agencies, FBI Police, CIA police, DIA police, Pentagon Protection Force etc etc. They mostly protect properties and employees of the agency they're under, and enforce other laws as authorized, while other divisions handle and execute the statutory tasks of the agency.

As a guy with a dad working secret service Protective driving (Thomas Murach) and being on the voice of America for driving had to protect the president I’m truly grateful for the things secret service does my dad has shown me a small portion at RTC but it’s opened me to what you guys do regardless of the shit that happens. I guess now that I think about it, I've seen in TV shows where they'll something like "we're rotating to nights next week" or something like that, but never experienced it or seen it myself. Maybe it's really big agencies that do that?

@slappy8941 I was Attacked with Identified Enemies American M-67 Hand Grenade bounced off my Turret Shield and landed on Platoon On-line which New Platoon 27 Sargent SSG Richards White Lighted and Asked over Platoon net "Did someone Drop a Grenade!?"(Pin Pulled but Spoon Safety was still On) Got a Up on our Hand Grenades (team Leaders and Above). Immediately after my Squad Leader 22 SSG Pedro Ramos Ate 💥 the other explosive in front of my MRAP Caymen Truck 6×6 but survived wasn't at AAR After Action Review. Few Platoon mates saw the BBC News reporters video taping before AAR. Before leaving briefing area told my 2nd Squad "This is a Setup" Our personal Trained Iraqi SWAT team my Platoon and I Trained had first dibs on objective children's playground for first 15-20 minutes while Rest of convoy waited at Iraqi police station as planned. When our Convoy Arrived None of the Iraqi SWAT team or Vehicles was seen on the Objective. During AAR After Action Review I called setup to Chain of Command Faces, everyone got quiet and Chain of Command left the area. NO Witness Statements or nothing. Never went back and ReSearched the Fake Night or Day(RPG shot while SPC Matthew Heckman and I was Digging a Hole For No Reason) cache hunt area's after Attacks. My Squad Leader SSG Pedro Ramos Ate 💥 got a Purple Heart 💜 medal. SSG Ramos gave me a Tactical Trunk Monkey patch for that specific mission and no one else. But few last later after mission with BBC News reporters, I got sent yo a Major Air Force Base in Iraq 🇮🇶 OIF6 2008 called "A Place For A Soldier Who Saw To Much Combat."

Ya know I was perusing their applications and I saw a wanted poster for counter assault team member hiring seminar in a hotel conference room. Think the hotel was Red Roof Inn, Alexandria, VA. It said qualifications needed: at least 1000 creditable hours logged of Call of Duty, computer, Xbox or PS only. COD mobile hours are not credited.
