With everything happening in the world right now I can truly use a film like this. Not a cgi riddled film with an overstuffed story or narrative, just a simple tale of life and the tribulations of living in one’s natural environment. Using real trained animals to play the parts of the animal characters just like the good old days, will only make me with this film existed even more!!!

Beautiful! On second viewing I noticed they ARE red deer/wapiti, not White Tailed deer! It must be Germany because the only animal not native to Europe is the raccoon, but they have been naturalized to Germany, The Netherlands, and Japan. Germany makes sense because the original book was German.

Bambi copyright expired in 2022. Disney never really had the rights, the original writer “loaned” them the rights to the story. Later, the daughter sued Disney for never really “owning” the rights.

Okay, so we've got a real trailer for a live action Bambi movie... *Audience immediately raises daggers, pitchforks and assorted produce* ...that is NOT made by Disney or based on their iconic 1942 animated adaptation... *Audience hesitates* ...is done in a documentary style (ala "March Of The Penguins") that is much closer in tone to the down to earth feel of the original Felix Salten "Bambi: A Life In The Woods" novel (which is now public domain)... *Audience looks at each other quizzically* ...and isn't a horror movie/spoof... *Audience sighs in relief* ...and actually looks pretty good?

This is beautiful! Slightly inaccurate because raccoons are North American yet hedgehogs and European rabbits live in Europe. (Though it could be Germany if they are wapiti deer because raccoons have been introduced and naturalized to Germany).
