I had a similar accident with my Jelly Star. I replaced the screen today, and it’s good as new. If you find yourself missing your Jelly, the official Unihertz screen replacement video got me through it in about 5 minutes.

Woah cool timing. I watched your tcl phone review the other day and I nearly got one but I ended up going with a sunbeam F1 pro. I haven't used it yet (I don't get mail at my apartment so I have to wait until I visit my parents maybe this weekend or next weekend) but I'm really looking forward to switching to it. It has Waze! That was the major selling point for me and from what I've seen online I expect the gps will be pretty good. I'll try to remember to update here after I've spent some time with it. I think you should check it out if you haven't. The only problem is that I think it's about the same size as the tcl... and it's pretty expensive... Bring back small phones fr

The F1 pro is great. It feels very well designed and extremely well built with the one possible exception of the buttons. The 1 4 and 7 buttons on mine sit slightly crooked and the 4 button in particular is very sunk into the frame on one side. The buttons function and click perfectly well though and I've gotten used to it. I contacted sunbeam customer service and they said they would replace it immediately if I wanted but I declined and instead asked if they would still replace it if one of those buttons fail within the next year, and they said that was fine. I think they'll probably last for years though so idk. The software is amazing. Best weather app I've ever used. The voice to text works way better than I expected and I use it all the time. There are 2 gps apps. Waze is great for just listening to the directions and giving updates about current conditions, but too much of the map is covered by annoying Waze stuff you can't get rid of. The other gps app is great for the map but doesn't have current conditions. I generally like the non Waze gps better but they are both good for different purposes. Group chats work fine. Call quality is great. I've never seen the battery below 50% though the gps will drain it relatively fast. Notification lights are awesome. I just put the phone on my desk on silent when I'm at work and I'll see the light in my peripheral. Hotspot takes 3 or 4 clicks to turn on and works perfectly. I think it is the perfect phone for me. The one downside I think is worth bringing up here is that it is pretty thick. This isn't a big deal for me because I'm a man and I wear man pants, but for women it would probably be more annoying

You need a screen protector and cover. I got both when I first bought the phone: They were included in the price. My Jelly 2 is still going strong after years of use and lots of drops. It's just been gifted to a friend. First rule of buying a new phone is get a screen protector and case. Otherwise it's all tears the first time you drop the phone. 🙂 P.S. I loved the Jelly 2 but the Jelly Star is way better.

loveeeee ur hair!! I have the tlc flip 2, and im trying to make the full commitment but i also need gps as well since i suck at directions LOL. Have been looking into the CAT S22 phone, which is a dumb phone but nearly a smartphone.

Omg thank you so much! Yeah, it's hard living without a GPS. Have you heard about the TCL Flip 3? It came out a few months ago I believe, and it has a GPS on it. CAT S22 is probably better, though I've never tried one!

I got the CAT S22, it's actually very frustrating to use unfortunately. Android does NOT like that form factor, and the 4:3 resolution causes a lot of issues in any applications you might need to use.

@@nibcrib I’m still using my flip! I mostly look up directions on my laptop, but I rarely go to new places so I don’t really need to figure out how to get “there”. I just like knowing when the train or bus is coming, so I can plan. Phones are pretty much tinier versions of laptops. I’ve kinda dumbed down my entire life in a way, but I purposely like to make things difficult for myself.

Maybe you have seen it but there’s a really cool controller case that turns the Jelly Star and I believe this model too into a portable gaming handheld. It’s called the “Sugar Cubes Jelly” and could be a cool repurposing if you ever stop using this phone. Small smartphones 100% need to comeback i need an iPhone 16 mini to exist so badly. The fiona apple shirt is sick too btw!!

Hey, yeah you can put mp3s on it! And the bluetooth is great, I never had any problems with it. I used the bluetooth every day
