I think it has a future without a doubt, I see it as quite complete, maybe something needs to be polished, but the truth is, I would buy it.

I dont get those big LED on the back, there is no real use for it? I want to save batterie and just a small notification light would have been enough?... However I'll probably buy it because it's small, not too pricy and hopefully detoxing. But those LED and the "gameboy style" makes it look like a toy and combined with the form it's not good looking. I don't want to say ugly...but it's not even trying to look like a tool. More like a toy. Would have prefered an undercover style like the jelly 2. A simple black/white version would be great!

The back light blinking on a notification even when the phone is on silent or muted is a nice touch. It blinks once for each notification as you get it and you can choose what apps the lights ignore. Along with the somewhat customizable RGB status led it works well.

The previous generations have big issues with Bluetooth and GPS so if you could test those two things on this phone and get back to us that would be awesome

GPS and Bluetooth work fine on the Jelly 2. However, they've further upgraded the GPS (Galileo) and Bluetooth (V5.3) on the Jelly Star. Jelly 2 was using Bluetooth V5.1 and didn't have Galileo. 🙂

I've had mine about a week now I had jelly 2 previously and I know what your talking about because at time I exoierecned drop outs on my jelly so far a week in I can confirm I haven't had any drops out and also notice the difference in performance from jelly 2 and I would consider it an upgrade from the jelly 2 from my time so far

@@MichaelCzajka GPS is fine on my jelly 2 but the Bluetooth doesn't work with any of the 15ish musical devices I've tried. The jelly star works fine with all of that so far and with better battery life

Nice review. And I love the idea of a small phone like this. However, lack of updates is a real turn off.

Unihertz released one major update to fix a couple of bugs in the Jelly Star firmware e.g. SMS's wouldn't send in some third party apps. However they seem to release updates as required for as long as the phone is on sale. I'm on my 4th Unihertz phone... and all of them have got regular updates. Updates to Android versions for the original Jelly stopped only new versions became too large (not enough storage memory).

The Atom worked well... but the Jelly 2 was better. Jelly Star does everything better again. Camera in particular is much nicer. :-)

Whell, what can I tell you, you must have really thin fingers (I don't have), otherwise it might be demanding to engage in longer writings. Maybe it would be ideal to have some kind of stylus pen...

On the jelly 2(same form factor) it's easy enough. I use swipe texting tho so I guess it all in how you use it. Swipe is convenient since my thumb can touch the whole keyboard 😂

backed;) i also once used jellypro and its battery life was horrible..even tho the battery got bigger so did other specs.. they say it lasts for full day but thats the only thing i worry about

Jelly is also not that good. Always take a powerbank with me. But on the other hand it changes fast enough and with hotspot you have your compact modem. I backed too because its faster and has better specs.

It is not waterproof. But if you need a mini phone resistant to water and shocks, I recommend you to look at their Tank Mini with a 4.3-inch screen. An excellent mini smartphone with impressive build quality, it's like a tank. My recommendation.

I'll take it because using my main phone to listen to music (downloaded + on my nas or internet radio) is killing the battery. And i'm fedup of chinese DAP like shanling or xduoo or any other DAP brand without Android. Perfect size

Helio G99 is not the best SOC on the other hand the display is not HD with 480x854. So there is not much graphics to push.

Just to put into perspective I was able to run Genshin on my Jelly 2, and yes, it did have stutters here and there, but it was running and didn't warm up too bad. Considering the Helio G99 is twice as fast on single core performance and 3x as fast on graphical performance than what the Jelly 2 had, this thing will be a gaming beast given that it only has to push 480x854 pixels.

Camera quality is much better than on the Jelly 2. The photos are much better than the ones taken on the older phones. Still not perfect... but much better quality. 🙂

Same, I've got the jelly 2 and the price difference isn't justified without 5G. They got it on their ticktock line so I'm wondering if the size limits the hardware for 5G, it would seem like a no brainier to add it to their new phones at this point.

Did you think I will say is that in terms of phone size or in sort of a disordered state, the current smartphones are too big and this might be too small, the be completely honest for a compact phone the sweet spot is about 4.5 inches or something similar to the original iPhone 5, I need compact phone and the screens just big enough. I'm concerned that this phone might be unnecessarily small at 3 in. Although I will say I do have a Nokia 8110 4G dumb phone and I can watch videos for hours on a screen which is about 2.5 in but often I'll watch videos in vertical and that's about 1.2 inch, very happily. I've noticed that there are some compact Android phones with 4 inch screens but none have all these features, no headphone jack being the biggest curse.

@@GSMaholic Thank you, I think is a very impressive phone but it just has too many features are deathly don't need. I would like exactly that phone but just as a phone. I would like to keep the size and bulk down if possible or if it's going to be bulky that purely going into the battery. Other than that is an absolutely perfect phone for my needs. Just got to wait patiently for what I want to come onto the market.
