Unimog 404 axle leak

znejznej The area behind this leak is an area that doesnt normally have oil and is sealed off. In my case, a leaking transmission gasket caused too much oil to sit in the axle for a long period of time. This oil eventually found its way into the sealed off area and was leaking out when it found a flaw in the gasket. Removing the outer section of the axle housing and resealing everything fixed it.
