Truly he had me hanging on his every word in this interview. Explaining his yacht experience was amazing. He was a very special man.

I became enchanted with William F. Buckley back in my college days. His brilliance, conservatism, genteel eloquence, and fascinating life is still a treasure. No one can ever take his place. I still listen to his “Firing line” interviews to this day. They are inspiring. I wonder how he would analyze today’s current events ?

The word ''mellifluous'' springs to mind when listening to William F. Buckley Jr speak. Always.

How can one dislike WFB? Guy was a gentleman.

I think the hate largely stems from the views/side he defended during his debate with James Baldwin and his ardent support of the war in Vietnam. His views on both changed though over time, but sadly. Most people don't know that. Both Mr. Vidal and Mr. Buckley I've always admired - though for different reasons.

@@ArareemoteHe was never really forgiven for his article “why the south must prevail” - which is understandable, even though he changed his mind about that too.
