The Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) this January remains part of the MMFF, and I hold on to the hope for Ate Vi’s redeeming glory. My support for Uninvited continues, no matter the competition or challenges ahead. Ate Vi’s exceptional talent and resilience can shine through in the upcoming award seasons.

It was a complete rehash of everything we watch on tv everyday. It was like a teleserye no less. Vilma, for example, was effective but not convincing as a vengeful mother. The director failed miserably navigating Vilma towards a more convincing performance. Vilma’s brand of acting did not work this time. Similarly, Aga must be fine but he as well failed meeting the jurors’ standards. His noninclusion does not make him less of a good actor just that as to taste, to each his own. Vilma OA acting & nothing has new. Screaming & arguing. Gosh! No artistry in acting.

RUBIA Serbios despite a Lino Brocka direction at ginalingan nya ang pagsigaw, galit, pagkamuhi, the whole range of anger inilabas nya towards Hysterical dynamics ....pero bigo ... Di cya nanalong Best Actress. Fast forward MMFF 2024 avenging mother ng rape victim role nya ..Di pa rin cya nanalo ? Why? In my own personal opinion hindi nag translate ang character sa Star for all seasons .....su Miss Vilma Santos ang na rape sa Rubia Serbios, at again si Vilma Santos ulet ang nag revenge sa Uninvited. Meaning si Vilma ang nakikita ko at hindi yung character nya . Arguably, the Star for all Season is a good movie star ....pero nasayang yung brilliance nya kasi Di na exploit yung depth ng character pumasok sa katauhan nya. Unlike yung kay Amy Austria sa Brutal na pinapanood mo si Monica at hindi si Amy, sa Moral naawa ka sa character ni Gina Alajar or si Lorna Tolentino sa Moral din na amoy na amoy mo ang baho ng bibig nya sa sigarilyo at Di mo ma makita na cya si LT na elegant lady or Si Jacklyn Jose na nagtitinda ng Shabu sa Ma Rosa at damang dama mo ang character nya through her eyes at never mo makita cya na cya si Jacklyn Jose na artista. My two cents.

It's unfortunate the MMFF 50 failed to recognize the excellent performances of the actors in the movie. Why Aga Mulach was not even nominated for Best Actor taints the integrity of the awards. He doesn't have to emerge winner if ayaw nila sa kanya. But to not even be nominated? Why? MMFF's spokesman has no explanation. I hope Uninvited shall be redeemed in due time by the other prestigious award giving bodies.

Alam mo naman pag noranian nagkakalat yan sa youtube para magbigay negative comments about vilma. palibhasa hindi na pinag-uusapan idol nila at relegated na lang sa supporting roles.
