Union Pacific Freight Train - Fitzsimmons Road 3

UP 4275 and UP 8634 lead a manifest freight north, up Union Pacific's Kenosha Subdivision. This was filmed at the Fitzsimmons Road railroad crossing in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Fitzsimmons Road is closed at the railroad tracks and is a walking trail out to Lake Michigan. The gates were left in place for pedestrian safety. This video was filmed on the east side of the crossing, facing west. There are two other videos I've shot at this spot over the years, on the west side facing east:

In the 80s I loved watching trains out there. They were more frequent back then too.

It was double tracked at the time as well. I think it was 1989 when they single tracked it.

Neat that you came back to this location which is a favorite of mine and thanks for sharing! But I had my directions wrong since originally, I thought you were filming north for some reason in your first two videos here.

I was facing east in my first videos here. This one was facing west. The train came in the late morning, so I had to film on this side to get the light. There was quite a bit of lake effect fog the day I got this.

That’s an old looking road with pretty new looking Crossing signals, Cool horn though!

These signals are from the 70's. They were the last ones on the line to retain their wooden, A-frame gate arms. They still have the smaller 8-3/8" lights as well.

It's closed to vehicles and is only for walking and bicycles now.
