We agree joshjones, UP switchers do look good in that paint scheme. UP had so many unique locomotives, they always kept us guessing.

What an informative video.

Both of our Union Pacific movies cover 50 years on the UP in 8 states. There is so much great history with this railroad. We think they were much more interesting in the 1950's-1980's!

Did you guys ever catch the ALCO C855?
@charlessmileyvideosАй бұрын
ALCO-C855, not sure that we have that one on film. We can check are archives, but Alco's were hard to find in general on film and especially video!
@ALCO-C855-fanАй бұрын
@@charlessmileyvideos I see. It would be so lovely to see the C855 on the internet again.❤️ Can I use a minor bit of footage?🥺 I partially focus on quality updates on old footage cuz I love vintage and my channel is anti-monetary.☺️ (You can look yourself if you have your doubts.😁) A fan channel you could say and I love vintage train videos.♥️

8:11 THe Union Pacific train could possibly be in 1977 for I see 2 International Harvester axial flow combines that IH introduced in 1977

Thanks generationll, this kind of inside info helps everyone to put the time frame into perspective. Especially, since many of our movies span 50 years sometimes it is hard to get a marker on the time! We appreciate your knowledge and input!

I wish the gas turbine locomotives were still around.
@thomasboese3793Ай бұрын
The turbines had one problem, noise, and sucked fuel as fast as a colander drains water in the kitchen. Amtrak tried a few turbine-powered sets, but between the fuel and maintenance costs, they were short-lived.
@charlessmileyvideosАй бұрын
@@thomasboese3793 You are right! They used as much fuel sitting in the siding, as they did on the mainline!
