It's special what Union Pacific does with their Heritage Units and a shame how many morons there are watching it. Kudos to Ed Dickens and his team!

These morons think by standing next to the tracks they can get the best pictures/vids/audio. Then as the engine gets closer they run backwards as the engine is too big to see it run/operate. Best shots and sound come standing 100 + feet back. UP 3985 was the first I made vids of. I was back about 30 feet with my camera as it chugged by at 10-15 mph . Terrible sound and shots. As it left the next morning I made these shots more than 100 feet back. Got some great oic and vids/sound and zoom in on the drivers working.... and the entire engine. Those people know the rules.....but disrespect them which is the norm today.

Well when UP 4014 is out on the road safety comes first for both the crew and the people next to the tracks they don't ask people to keep 25 feet away from the track for a reason if you're standing on the ballast (rocks) you're way too close to the tracks in danger of being hit. And a lot of people don't realize the true brute size of UP 4014 which it overhangs the tracks by 3 feet (36") on both sides the last thing the crew wants us to see someone get hurt or killed by their own stupidity being too close to the tracks as if they hit someone or anything guess what the entire train goes immediately into an emergency brake application halting the train to a complete stop then later on the entire crew involved are required by the Federal Railroad Administration, OSHA, and National Safety Transportation Board to be mandatory drug screened to determine if any drugs were in their system at the time of the accident remember the UP Steam crew are still UP employees bound by rules & regulations that they have to follow. And what the video doesn't show is Ed Dickens UP Steam manager/engineer was probably screaming at the top of his lungs yelling at people to GET BACK while he's repeating blowing the whistle trying to get these people's attention.
