Shortly, you are not only a great watercolorist but also (or maybe above all) a very wise and sensitive man. Thank You for your paintings, lessons and Yout thoughts. Greetings from Cracow

Trying to figure out how you draw without smearing the pencil marks and how it is that the watercolor doesn’t dissolve the graphite that you use to create your art. How is that?

I try hrad to not drag my hand over the pencil marks once they are down - I do occasionally smear them - but not often.. Water - if floated over the drawing - doesn't dissolve the graphite. If "srcubbed: in it might. But I don't do that . This is regular graphite that I am using - not water-soluable

Tremendously helpful once again. Your discussion of style and being true to one’s own vision was particularly important for me. I’m inclined to paint in a way I know that my loved ones prefer (light, pretty) rather than the way I really desire ( darker, less vibrant). Equally, I sometimes feel pressured to paint more loosely than perhaps I want to. The contrast of light and shade in your work and the purity of line always give me the immediate reaction of ‘Wow, that’s a wonderful painting’ that you spoke of. Thanks so much for sharing your work.

Wonderfully informative and motivating. I share your love of Blackwing pencils, so buttery! Love the quick HL & VP in your value study. Necessary but proving you don’t have to “screw down” and be a slave to it. Thank you Thomas. 🇨🇦
