This is the 2nd gen of this line of parkas. The 1st gen has a thinner zipper and slighly thinner materials overall. My 1st gen pocketable parka lasted me for around 6 years. Now, I'm going to buy the 2nd gen and I hope it lasts me the same if not more. Thank you for this. I would love to see more vids of the 2nd gen parka but you're the only dude on KZbin who has covered it.

Hey, just FYI - Asian Uniqlo sizes tend to be labelled one size bigger, i.e. the Hong Kong size L is actually UK size M. You can confirm this by comparing size measurements for this product across the two websites. For this parka, the recommendation should be to size down for conventional fit and true to size for roomy fit. PSA: Always compare and confirm product measurements before ordering online.

Yeah you’re right, although the Large for this fitted me which I’m a large UK, but yes best to just check the correct measurements. Thank you for your feedback

Nice review. Does it have only two pockets? I’m still using an older version of this, bought 9 years ago. It has two additional hidden pockets on the underside (not reachable from outside the jacket). And its main pockets are not mesh, but made of the same fabric. I always carry this in my backpack or messenger bag. It’s sooo light and can be compressed to take very little space. It also works as an extra “shirt” on hot days, when my shirt gets too sweaty and I still need to walk around. I just put this on and zip it up 🙂 And the wet shirt goes to the parka’s bag, which is very useful. (edit: spelling)

Thank you Levi!! Appreciate it soo much. Yeah this only has 2 pockets and it’s really super light weight. I take this everywhere too 😂 but rarely do use it, only just for emergency.

Is this something viable for warm/hotter weather for uv protection? Or is the dry ex parka much better for that?

The dry ex parka might be thicker I guess to offer better protection, but the one I shown is light and still offers good coverage, I’ve worn in the sun no problem and still allows for good breathability and to stay cool. It’s light and folds away so easily too. But If your concern is the UV protection, then the dry ex parka might be more suited that you mentioned. Hope it helps 👍🏻

I’d say it could yeah, it’s nice and thin however I would wear an extra layer underneath. Cause this is paper thin pretty much. It’ll cover you lightly but don’t expect much warmth. Hope that helps

It’s like 7inches in height and radius basically 1.5inch. It’s pretty compact to be honest and will fit any small bag for the most part

I am 5’2 which one should i order?? I am ordering this frim Australia, one of my uniqlo parka is from japan and it is quiet big for me does Australia uniqlo parka is bigger than japan or product size is same in all countries

@@oioi316 I assume you go true to size. Japan sizes are usually smaller compared to their western store sizes. However with this jacket, I am a UK Large, and I got this from Hong Kong still in Large and it fitted. In the airism t shirts, I got XL, when I’m usually a Large in the UK. Your best is to check the country your purchasing from, the size measurements to avoid mistakes. However I think maybe with this jacket, you can just go true to your size. Hope that helps
