Unique Control and Damage Build - The Eldritch Battle Master | D&D 5.5

One of the most fun changes in the new 2024 PHB is with the Battle Master Fighter, allowing many of their maneuvers to work on spell attacks as well as regular attacks. We of course took this new change and synergized it with one of the best spell attackers, the Eldritch Blaster Warlock, creating a fun damage and control build with a unique style in combat.

In the Dragonlance setting players can choose. An Eldritch Knight Sorcerer can have Charisma as their spell ability.

this is a great build. I was thinking dex charisma and then dual wielding but i think pact of the blade only applies to one weapon

Hexblade + new part of the blade can duel weild with CHA modifier, so hexblade isn't quite redundant

Correct, it allows you to create or bond to one weapon. Besides, with this build, you are going to want to use your Bonus Action for other things, like Misty Step.

This is a fantastic build ! So far, I have barely tipped my toe into the 2024 edition (I hope to get the revised PHB for Christmas !) but the new synergies it offers seem sooo much fun ! Personnally, I would love to play it as a Battlemaster 3 / Archfey Bladelock 17, to get the fullcaster experience at the end of the line. However, the 4/16 split might work better for shorter campaigns. Anyway, great to see this channel still producing gems ! 😁 Love your work guys. Cheers from France !

Love this. With a little DM fiat we could get it online and SAD by level 2: Goliath Fighter 1: custom 2024 BG, 15+2 into CHA, Magic Initiate (Wiz, CHA) to get True Strike right away. Ask for Superior Technique Fighting Style from Tasha's. Level 2 Fighter1/Warlock1: Agonizing Blast invocation Then get to Battlemaster goodies, and switch fighting styles. Also Warcaster is incredible here. Your choices of Blade Pact and Spell Sniper are really good. I think this kind of build is flexible enough to lean into either Strength or Dex for AC, depending on if you want to be right up in melee or long range. And that's my tweak on the Eldritch Battle Blaster Master Caster.

Maneuver DC is either Dex or str, so we can't go entirely sad

@ good call, which is why I’d make STR or DEX my secondary. But the main gimmick is intact at every level this way letting CHA be your attack stat for range or melee.

You would also get a bit more control by picking the genie warlock (dao) and picking up the crusher feat. The extra bludgeoning damage let's you use crusher with your blasts for a bit of extra push. Whether this works better than fey is up to you.

Sorcerer for Quicken spell could be good as well, though 3 classes is a lot

You can't actually get heroic inspiration for yourself with the musician feat. Only Allies.

The BM DC is dependent on your str, which isn't addressed. That doesn't make it unplayable, but being MAD is an issue.

Very true, this is why STR is still out secondary stat. While our DC won't be the highest, it should still be pretty decent for a turn by turn ability. Appreciate the call out!

If someone can please correct me/enlighten me that would be awesome! With that said are there any builds that I can preview? For example on D&D Beyond or something of the sort? Heck I would even pay to have them already built from lvl 1-20 so I can just plug and play!
