I’m 11, and i started when i was 9. In my school, a boy’s grandma started a knitting club. There were free hooks and needles. She taught me how to crochet, and since then, i’ve never stopped. I’ve basically become one of the helpers, teaching people how to crochet. It’s become my personality now too 😂. But it’s my last year at this school, so I’m going to miss her… :(

I don't think it's a "Granny Hobby" at all. I consider it a generational art that will never lose its thousands of uses and is such a beautiful thing. My mom was an avid crocheter and when she passed I was so sad I didn't get to learn all the stitches and techniques from her. Learning how to crochet as an adult and finding amazing tutorials on KZbin has helped me not only feel closer to her, but also helped me find something I love doing and creating for myself and others. I really like this video. But I wanted to mention, one of the blankets made by hand (without a hook) was done by knitting, and not crochet. So it's a bit strange to include it in a video about crochet... I recognize this because I was going to teach my niece how to knit without needles. That method was used with the knitted blanket at about 3:38. I've been crocheting for over 25 years so I know the difference between crochet and knitting lmao... But thanks for this video. I had no idea that crocheting could reduce the onset of Alzheimer's by 30 to 50%. I just began teaching my mom, who is in her mid-70s, to crochet. So she will definitely enjoy hearing that anecdote!
