കേരളസംസ്ഥാനം രൂപീകരിച്ച നവംബർ ഒന്നാണ് കേരളപ്പിറവി എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. 1947-ൽ‍ ഇന്ത്യ ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരിൽ നിന്നും സ്വതന്ത്രമായ ശേഷം, ഐക്യകേരളത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രക്ഷോഭങ്ങൾ ശക്തിപ്പെട്ടു. 1956 - ലെ സംസ്ഥാന പുനഃസംഘടന നിയമമാണ് ഈ പുനർസംഘടനക്കും പല സംസ്ഥാന രൂപീകരണങ്ങൾക്കും വിഭജനത്തിനു ആധാരം. ഭാഷാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ പുനർസംഘടിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ഇന്ത്യാഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ തീരുമാനപ്രകാരം തിരുവിതാംകൂർ, കൊച്ചി രാജ്യങ്ങൾ മദ്രാസ്‌ പ്രസിഡൻസിയുടെ മലബാർ പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ ഇങ്ങനെ മലയാളം പ്രധാനഭാഷയായ പ്രദേശങ്ങളെല്ലാം കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തുകൊണ്ട് 1956 നവംബർ ഒന്നിന്‌ കേരളം എന്ന സംസ്ഥാനം രൂപവത്കരിച്ചു. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നവംബർ ഒന്ന് കേരളപ്പിറവിദിനമായി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

Kerala Piravi, or Kerala's birthday, falls on November 1st. Until 1956, there was no state named Kerala; instead, there were three princely states. Malabar in the north, Thiru Kochi in the centre, and Thiruvithamkoor in the north. On November 1, 1956, these three princely realms were combined to form the state of Keralam or Kerala.

Kanyakumari was part of kerala before 1956 . Like kanyakumari there was other places which was part of kerala. In 1956 kanyakumari was given to tamil nadu and districts in kerala was finalized. That is why we celebrate kerala birthday on nov 1

Akarshita, Kerala dress is actually Mundu and Neriyathu to cover upper body. On special occasions including marriage functions you use Kasavu mundu and neriyathu which means the borders have golden hue by the kasavu. By marriage I meant when the thali or mangalyasutra is tied, normally at a temple.

After the yoga breathing exercise is necessary. There are main three parts of divisions joined together to form the state of Kerala on the basis of Malayalam language. Travancore kingdom ( called Venad), Cochin kingdoms and the Malabar region of northern Kerala ( then under the rule of British presidency) joined together on first November 1956 formed the state of Kerala. Instead of that Kanyakumari, Thenksi ,Theni district areas of Venad kingdom given to Tamilnadu state against the Malabar region from the British ruled presidency of late Madras.

On November 1st 1956, Travancore - Cochin consolidated with Malabar (which were 3 kingdoms) and formed the KERALA stase under the State Reorganisation Act. So November 1st recognised as the foundation day (Kerala piravi Dinam).

At the time of independence the boundaries of many Indian States were different from current one. People did not like this. After much agitations prime minister Nehru decided to reorganise state boundaries along linguistic lines. That is, people speaking a particular language will be in one state. Kerala originally consisted only of Travancore and Cochin princely states. The Malabar region (Calicut) was in Tamil Nadu. This was because during British rule Malabar was part of Madras presidency. After state boundary reorganisation, in November 1st 1957, Kerala state was formed with current boundaries.

India had 562 princely states in 1947. The States Reorganisation Act, 1956, was passed on 31 August 1956. The 562 Indian states were reorganised on a linguistic basis. The three Malayalam-speaking princely states, Travancore, Cochin, and Malabar, were merged, and Kerala was formed on November 1, 1956. Hence, it's the foundation day of the Kerala. Kerala is not the only state that celebrates this day. Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Chhatisgarh, and Karnataka also celebrate the foundation on November 1. People of Kerala celebrate Nov 1 as केरला-पिरवी पिरवी means birth....... but, actually, it's not the birthday...... it's the foundation day..... Waise Kerala ka birth kaise hua tha uski bhi ek story hai....... Kehte hai ki Bhagwaan Parshuram ne apne parshu se Kerala ka nirman kiya hai........ that's a story many people believe........ Uttar Pradesh ka bhi ek foundation day hai..... 24 January 1950
