It's a good thing that these historical records still exist and the presenter is kind enough to bring them to the public eye, otherwise Rickson Gracie would have to invent everything again and relabel it.

Since Kimura did pro wrestling, it wouldn’t have been crazy if he got that guillotine from catch wrestling because it looks very similar to the catchy style face lock/ standing chancery. Either way it’s cool that they all influence each other.

I feel a lot of judoka frustrated with the limitations of judo rules should start their own grappling competitions that welcome wrestlers and BJJ into the mix. That way, people can wear their judo uniform in these competitions. Heck make everyone wear it, that would make it interesting

Impressive video presentation! The timing of your comments with the videos is unique. Your video content is informative, educational, and hands-on descriptive. Few martial artists can present information like you. Continue the great work. You have a gift. And how about some background info about you? Your research is professional and detailed. Thank you.

My favorite sneaky trick is an Ezekiel choke variation while still standing, so much fun! It normally doesn't work more than once unless your oponent is new but people always wants to know how the hell you ended the match without immediately falling on your back like everyone else in the BJJ gym hahaha. Wish we were allowed to standing choke in Judo...

Those turtle attacks from 5:40 onwards are really useful. However, you won't see them used in BJJ because BJJ practitioners are taught the mantra of "position before submission" and they will just try and take the back from there.

Well, but even if the guy is a high-level Judoka with a high-level Ne Waza and he is competing or fighting with someone at the same level he'll need to secure the position before the submission, cuz if you don't the odds are that you gonna lose the submission and the position. But I understand what you tried to say, also think it's awesome seeing something different from ordinary. OSS

You still have the "Kosen" schools (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqjLiYmhmridY5I ). I just wish some of those guys had immigrated to the U.S. and taught they techniques here. Instead its all about Olympic style, with the exception of dojo where some black belts cross trained in jiu-jitsu.
