Honestly, Miki's backswing generates a ton of power in her shot. That's how I was when I used to bowl. I didn't have such an exaggerated approach, but at one point, I had a super-high backswing, because my game was all about power and revs.

Frankly, as remarkable as his power game appears to the only-so-well-trained eye, I'm not sure Rudy even belongs on this list. As "unique styles" go, he's really nothing more than Pete Weber (circa 1980) with a remarkably visible measure of upper body strength..

how is Matt O Grady unorthodox. His physical game is beautiful!
@awalker300 Жыл бұрын
I bowled against him in college. Back in college I remember his back swing being much more behind his back and the elbow bent much more. When he made the PBA shows it looks like he smoothed it all out and looks pretty traditional in today's game.

I don't see O'Grady or Monacelli as unorthodox. If they are, you could put Richie/Dick Allen as unorthodox, because of his hand on the ball. That's how I see it, but I can tell where/why you'd say O'Grady and Monacelli
@fongbrandon2 жыл бұрын
Back in the day Monacelli was highly criticized for his style.
@omegavladosovich67572 жыл бұрын
@@fongbrandon well, his style seems to define how most crankers throw today, albeit with higher backswings and less of a bent elbow at followthrough (eventually he got rid of that and throws more of a tweener/stroker nowadays).
@patrickdare53562 жыл бұрын
Today they would not be considered unorthodox at all but in the 80s Monacelli was told he'd never last on tour because his shoulder would fall apart. Kasimakis was all about rev rate before that was even a term. Ryan Shafer got criticized because it looked like he was coming out of his shoes at the foul line.
