I hope Spencer comes back soon. I really want his double ocarina and I want a custom order of a triple ocarina as well (if he's willing). I think I'm giving a STL double pendant a try next month thanks to your detailed review and this video.

Having types 1 and 4, I would say type 1 is the more practical of the two. Type 4 has potential to be great, but is really maker and instrument dependent. Pulling out my STL Ivy for the first time in ages was weird. It's decent, but kind of misses the mark in some regards. (Finding the finger holes is oof.) Hind nailed it, though, at least with the inline. One side in C, one in F, and about the size of the regular inlines. While I have only played a little with it, it sounds amazing.
