It depends on how you compose. Having the faders helps to get your hands off your computer and on to the controller. A lot of people like to work faster with their production so having the faders is definitely a plus for that. Yes, you can map the effects and record automation, too via rewire.

@ThatPoj No headphone jack because there isn't any audio through the keyboard. Everything is going to be generated via your computer sound card or audio interface. I hope this helps!

@MenecolaMusic You can set drum pads with button 'Controls'. You can even use it for setting the pads for a different channel. But it takes a while to set them. So you might read the manual how to save this settings to a preset. It is not that difficult but a bit time consuming.

The Novation Impulse is a MIDI controller. There are no built in sounds as it controls the functions within your preferred DAW. If you want to record vocals, you may be better off getting an interface. Check out the UniqueSquared website for great deals on audio interfaces.

Hi. I own and play the Novation impulse 49, in combination with the Ketron sd40 (keyboard sd7). I want to use the Novation on the buhne live with the Ketron module SD40 without adding a PC. Only as a sound source. By midi. That means that I want to use every fader (slide and knob but especially the pads on Novation for percussion) by means of midi. Especially the latter is useful for adding live congas. This means that I need the Ketron Midi Implementation Chart because it shows which track of the sd40 gives the midi signal. That is still searching. I can then link this later to the faders. Does anyone know how I can link the faders to the individual sounds of the sound module sd40 Ketron? With greeting Henk

@dopemcee He was searching for the ones that react to the sound. It is a bit unclear to me what channels are responding when using groups and other simple stuff. I just tried this on loaded tracks.

Man, if it was dedicated to Logic as it is to Ableton it'd be a must. Or like how avid has dedicated controllers to Protools. I wish Logic had a controller like that, the oxygen's are the closest to that, but not quite. Does anyone recommend the oxygen 49?? I'm considering buying the 49 key, to replace my alesis q49

When you use the faders to control the mixer nothing happens or if sometimes happens it has a very high latency. Why? I also see you push "stop" for 3 times to stop recording. Why do you do this? Will I have the same "features" if I buy Impulse? Thank you.
