Thank you for taking the time to post this video. I just purchased a 34-802 Unisaw that has what I believe is the exact same problem. The blade will not raise or lower. I just removed the wings from the table and thought that I would check on KZbin and see if anyone else has had this problem and this is the first video that came up in my search for removing the table from the saw. It’s about 30 degrees here today so in a couple of days when it warms up some I’m going to remove the table and see if indeed it is the pulley like yours.

Thanks for this series. I recently acquired a 1951 bintage Unisaw that is in really good mechanical condition, aside from a very rusty top. 2 days soaking in Evaporust took care of the top, but I think I'll go ahead and do the bearings and belts to be safe, since I'm actually going to be using the saw.

Did you use any scouring pads or wire brushes or anything like that?

Hey Thanks for the video!!! It really helped me out replacing the bearings and belts on my 34-771. My machines date of manufacture is Jan 1980 and it does have the screw in retainer like yours.

Many, many thanks. I thought I needed to dismantle the whole shaft and bearing assembly to replace belts!

Thanks art, good trick with the wood block to hold the motor weight.

Super helpful video, I'm ordering belts and bearing myself.

I've now redone my bearings with the arbor assembly removed and sitting on my bench. There appears to be several videos for doing this, and some of them -- like yours -- are very helpful. But nobody reassembles the pulley with belts in place. Likewise, nobody explains how you get the belts on without going back and removing the pulley, essentially starting all over. Did I miss something? I can't imagine reinstalling the belts other than by including them before reassembling the arbor shaft.

Gus, I wish I had taken a video of removing the belts. I no longer have the saw so I can't check, but if I recall the belt slips on from the opposite side of where the blade goes. The side that faces the yoke. When you raise and lower the blade there is space behind the arbor and you just slip the belt on, I think you put it on the bottom first. Once you get the arbor back on the saw you will see what I mean. You do not have to remove the pulleys to put the belts on. Thanks for commenting and I hope you "like and subscribe"!

Art, Would you check that part number on the Nachi bearings? I came up with a slightly different number: 6203-2NSE9. You indicated 2N"2"E9. Please advise. Good video, thanks.

There was a question about the bearing 5 years ago. You can look back and see the complete answer. The bearing number is 6203-2NSE-C3. I hope this helps.

Hello. This was helpful. Do you recall how much the cabinet weighs after removing the top and wings?
@artpfenninger59142 жыл бұрын
I didn't weigh the cabinet. The cabinet itself is pretty light and can easily be moved by one person. The motor however is very heavy so if you want to lift the cabinet it will take two people. When moving the saw to a new location and it's necessary to go up stairs it is much easier to remove the top and wings. It takes time to do it but it's still easier.

Thanks for your video. Could you give me the dimensions of the belts. I am planning to order new ones for my unisaw. Thanks

I don't remember but if you search for Delta 49-124 Unisaw belt you should find it. They sell them on Ebay and Amazon.

I just have one question. How do you tell when your Unisaw was manufactured ? I have tried looking up the model number and the serial number and I can’t find anything. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you again for this video.

How do you loosen/tighten the thin screw on ring that holds the bearing? hammer and a flat head wedged into the 2 little tabs?
@artpfenninger59143 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what screw you are referring to. If you are talking about the round retaining ring that screws into the arbor that holds the bearing, just put a screwdriver into the cutout and tap on it. The ring will unscrew.

Hi, thanks for sharing. Just FYI my '45 saw does not have that threaded bearing retainer. Your saw is later model. at some point they must have added it.

which model do you have?

I wonder if this was a change they made while they were still being produced in Milwaukee, or if it was changed after they moved production elsewhere? I just got a 1951 vintage unisaw I'll be digging into over the weekend, the last full year they built them in Milwaukee, so I guess I'll find out. I pulled the rusty table off to soak it in Evaporust, came out nice, but have not dug into the guts since they look good and the saw works. I think I'll replace the belts and bearings while I've got it apart though, maybe it will be good for another 67 years. :)

I have not been able to find the bearings in the number that is stated in this video (6203-2n2e9) but I could find a bearing (on eBay) with the part number 6203-2nSE9. Did he mean the "6203-2nSE9" bearing?
@artpfenninger59148 жыл бұрын
This is the number 6203-2NSE C3 Double Sealed Nachi Bearing EMQ 17mm x 40mm x 12mm 6203 2RS

Also dry lube is generally better for the gears. It's not tacky so should get saw dust sticking to it. If you can't find it you can get it from Dick's or real bike shops as dry chain lube.

the motor rebuild is a REAL CHORE though! be careful!!! take it to a motor shop!!!!
