The goals in our school are a bit small so I basically fill the goal so it's hard to get past me but I mostly play defense, I work on my technique everyday at home with a slightly deflated ball by kicking it around everywhere as if it's part of my body and the ball control comes naturally.

I’ve seen probably every tutorial for bending the shot. This is still the most helpful. One of the last things to stick for me was keeping the ankle locked solidly through contact with the ball. It’s difficult to be conscious of the difference. If you’re shooting a lot of accidental knuckle balls it’s probably a loose ankle. The other tip is to imagine showing your studs to the keeper through the follow through which results in keeping the correct foot angle. Otherwise you wind up striking a more angled laces shot which is a good technique but won’t get the movement you want.

Hey, goalie here. Just wanted to say that your technique has seriously increase how accurate I am with goal-kicks. Instead of landing somewhere around the player, I've been able to land it right at his feet. The accuracy and precision of this kick is seriously underrated, along with the power you can generate. Nice video, everything that was said is correct. In the end, it all comes down to the contact point, the power you hit the ball, and the angle of your foot. After hundreds or even thousands of repetitions, you will reach a point where a few fractions of a second after you hit the ball, you will know if your kick was good or not without even the need to see where it landed. I played at an amateur level but free kicks were something I always loved and I've reached up to about 70-80% accuracy roughly, being left-footed might also helped. One thing is for sure, continuous practice and repetition will bring you to a level where you will be able to kick the ball with your eyes shut - not exaggerating here.
