One thing often forgotten with the Falcon is that it is NOT a dedicated transport, so if in a particular game it is more advantageous not to start the Banshees (or anything else) inside it, there is no requirement to do so. Given that it's only 140 points and has a pretty good speed and weapons profile, it's still a useful, if not devastating, tank on its own.

I've been running my banshees w/ Jain Zar in a falcon with great affect! Game 1 they killed a nemesis dreadknight on the charge. Game 2 they multi charged 5 marines and 5 terminators after softening up the squads with shooting. The falcon helps so much with the low Str

I started collecting Eldar in 2nd edition, had a 20 year break from the hobby, then got back into 40k in 2022. A lot has changed (not Warp Spiders though), so your videos have really helped.

I just hope when the codex drops that they make rules for exarch to have both triskele and executioner, as the kit has those weapons on opposite arms and can be built to have both. Banshees are no where near as scary as before, but if you support them they can still punch up. Jain Zar is a big boost to a squad and having Eldrad or a Falcon to support them helps with wounding targets.

Great video! Interestingly, Jain Zar only has Advance and Charge when joining her Banshee sisters as a Leader. She doesn't innately have it herself. Which, I mean, as a Phoenix Lord of an Aspect, feels like a huge flavor loss. But I'd never really considered just chucking her into a Falcon with some shooty units like Dire Avengers or Fire Dragons before. That's an interesting consideration!

I may have mentioned this before, but using the 40k mods for Rimwolrd by Ogliss, I tend to make my eldar colony Iybraesil, because pawns start with hyperweave clothing, which is light blue. I don't remember the Triskele from when I played. Sounds like I didn't miss much.

Oh how I miss their 9th ed version, I loved Exarch powers on all the aspects. But the +1D on mirror swords was just brutal. Also I hate HAAATE that they lost their overwatch immunity. I'm afraid of even charging guardsmen if not through a wall now. Its shameful.

It’s kind of a bummer, since way back in the day it seemed like they were supposed to be better against heavy infantry while the Striking Scorpions were better against light infantry. Which might not be how it worked in practice, since pretty much every game at that shop was casual as far as I could tell and I don’t really know what the meta actually was. But still, I thought the idea behind Aspect Warriors was that they were all supposed to be REALLY good at something specific, so the Banshees being kind of middling and redundant is pretty disappointing.

I quite like Jain Zar. She more than doubles their shooting, and she hits pretty hard. I've also found her to be deceptively tough if you throw some fate dice in there defensively when it makes sense. Maybe not the best thing in the book but charging through walls is handy.

Banshees are also my fave infantry Aspect. I have all three Exarchs modeled now (even the Triskelle which looks Cool AF but...... yeah, ain't great). However they do really lag behind Scorpions as THE melee unit for our beloved Space Elves. My fave aspect though: Shining Spears. It absolutely bums me out how not competetive they are right now. Speaking of Aspects though, I GUESS that with the current addition of Jump Troops in Kill Team, New Swooping Hawks will be a Kill Team release and New Warp Spiders with the rumored Warp Lord will be our Battle Force release.

Patiently waiting for Banshees to get some kind of deny overwatch again so I can use them as tactical missiles to run into dangerous but squishy units. Also disembarking 3" + move 8 + advance 6 + charge 2d6 is really fun.

Gonna disagree with you on the Triskele! Especially out of the Falcon. The falcon gives re-rolls in shooting AND melee, so more attacks = more re rolls = more efficiency. Jain Zar also gives +1 to hit in shooting AND melee. When you add that together the Triskele is better than all other options.

I'm interested in how well it would work to run 3 groups of 10. It's about 21% of an army. Combined with scorpions they could send a lot of melee in very fast. I have only 11 myself though. I'll have to try them in a few more games. I've mostly been using shroud runners for the things you describe. Not being able to move through walls hurts a fair bit depending on terrain.

Hey Brent, do you have any experience with the new Boarding Actions gamemode in 10th? They have a dedicated Aspect Warrior detachment, and the game is (almost) ALL infantry, so Banshees have quite an identity there.

I got a question: I'm building my first 1000 point list and I'm trying to include a bit of everything so I can learn all aspects of the game. Should I take these, striking scorpions, or a warlock conclave for my melee squad? I'm also bringing a Wraithlord for melee purposes. I have Wraithguard rather than Wraithblades. Further context: Everyone I'm playing with is also new to the game. I'm not trying to build a competitive list to stomp my friends, I'm just trying to determine which of the aeldari melee specialists are easier to pilot and better for general use. Thanks in advance if you read this.

I'd not take a warlock conclave just for the fact that despite being very small units, they are very expensive, both money- and points-wise. Between the other two, for learning purposes I think I'd go with the Scorpions. Infiltrate is a very powerful but very intricate special rule of the game, and if you're getting something mostly for practice purposes I think those would suit you better, by virtue of them having that interesting and powerful ability. It lets you set up that unit anywhere on the board that is at least 9" away from your opponent's deployment zone or other enemy units, meaning they do not have to start the battle in your own deployment zone. Infiltrate can be great to either: - claim space/objectives on the board early; - create a movement-block for your opponent. Units with the scout special rule for instance cannot make that pre-game move to within 9" of any of your units. Sometimes giving up a 65 point unit of scorpions to deny a scout move is a super powerful play; - enable you to do some early secondary missions that otherwise would be very difficult; ...or a combination of the above. Aside from that ability, Scorpions are about as powerful in melee as Banshees are. They have way less AP, but sustained hits 1 and devastating wounds on the charge, not to mention the Scorpion's Claw weapon for the Exarch, make that they can surprise you by punching up sometimes if you get a charge off with them. Hope the advice helps and your first 1000 point list turns out awesome!

@@Zakon673 you should definitely skip the conclave. Banshees are totally solid for the kind of play you are talking about, but the stronger melee pick is five Scorpions in a Falcon. I will drop a video about them in a few days
