United A319 Smooth Landing in Dallas (KDFW) *LIVE ATC* [HD]

United Airbus A319 Landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas with live ATC communication! This flight originated from Newark, NJ (KEWR). Our callsign was "United 275." I hope you enjoy!
Just for reference: Gear down at 4:34. Touchdown is at 7:45. Filmed 08/02/12.
Other info:
ATC is provided on board several United Airlines flights. By hooking up some headphones to the armrest audio jack and turning up the volume, I was able to get Air Traffic Control communications with the pilots.
I did not provide captions for ATC during landing as most transmissions were low volume and it is hard to copy word-for-word what was said. If you listen carefully though, you can still pick up the gist of what is going on. Another frustrating thing is that the audio cuts off when the flight attendants are using the PA system.

That up and down movement (rocking) of the wing the final few minutes before touch down is fucking delicious. If you love planes you know what I'm talking about. Planes are the most beautiful machines ever made. I only wish they didn't crash.

Thank you! I apologize for the atc....it was kinda a spur of the moment thing and all I had were some cheap headphones. On United flights in the future I promise it will be better. :)

so they dropped speed entirely with the breaks then hit the flaps? they must have been comming in way too fast

This is actually a pretty normal occurrence. A slightly steeper descent was probably needed by ATC for traffic separation so the pilots used the speedbrakes to help get the aircraft down quickly. "Coming in fast" is not necessarily a bad thing either so long as a stable approach is achieved before reaching about 1,000 ft. AGL.

sixfoursoul1 spoilers are often used on approach to dump lift so the plane can shed height quickly without picking up speed
