Hi Jayden. I have one suggestion: every time you start a video and greet your viewers, could you also say what date it is? Because you often include important update on what's happening in the world of flying, but even though just released, the video doesn't necessarily have to be newly taken. Great video, Jayden! That is a really long flight, but it looked like you enjoyed it. The restaurant in the Polaris looked really nice but the buffet seemed kind of sad. As for the pajamas, I think you could have fit 2 of you in them! 😂. Sorry your suitcase didn’t make the trip. You’d think a 5 hour layover would be plenty of time to transfer the bag.

imo in a head-to-head competition on SFO-SIN route, the only reason I would chose UA over SQ is the cool flight number🤣 UA1 costs the most amongst flight #1 of all US airlines, so the chance to fly on it seems to be more attractive than AA1 or B61

Well done trip report Jayden but for SFO to SIN you could have chosen SQ since they have a better product than UA Polaris. SQ31 & 33 > UA1 which is also preferred by a milage plus member. In the future, if UA gets their A359s then you can do A359s UA vs DL vs CX vs MU vs CI. 😍😍😍😍. For United Airlines the IFE system allows you to listen to the ATC which is called from the flight deck

@jimbo6059 I wonder what's the reason why that doesn't happen? Looks like UA wants you to fly ANA/Asiana Eva Air via NRT/HND🇯🇵 TPE🇹🇼 and ICN🇰🇷 from SFO to SIN. Also, Thai Airways, if they do restart TG790/791 this time as BKK-EWR Terminal B airside shuttle to Terminal C in EWR. If you switch over to Oneworld Alliance AS and AA Oneworld Emerald members can get their JL MH and CX seats at their pricing if applicable to do. Possibly the same on Skyteam with DL and AM Skyteam Elite Plus members getting their pricing on KE MU VN CI and GA flights.

Hi Jayden - good to get this review from you with your customary attention to important details. Have been considering using this exact flight myself; have to say on the basis of your review would definitely choose SQ over UA on this sector, or NH/JL via NRT/HND rather than through SFO. The food and service really looked pretty average for a ULH flight. Interesting to see that Polaris was full, too. Very informative review, thank you.🙂

Hello! Polaris is a great choice is price is right and you just want a good night sleep. It definitely lacks the hospitality and service you’d get from NH and SQ. However I must say though, I prefer Polaris bed over SQ’s! SQ is wide but very little feet space.

Airlines usually/should cover for that. I’ve always asked airlines directly for money. I would only use insurance if it was stolen and not the airline’s fault

Nice video mate! Sad that United along with the other two other US-based airlines, haven't learned a d*mn thing from its' int'l airline competitors. For someone to pay thousands of $$ for a business class ticket on United, the meal service is rather unappealing. UAL should provide on-demand dining, especially during midflight, when all they do is leave food out in the galley...UAL needs to step up its game in providing more involved meals for mid-flight snacks, like ramen bowls or soups in addition to their cheap sandwiches.

To be fair it is J rather than F class. And as someone has noted here I too can remember the days when QF would have 2-4-2 J class seating for its 747s flying LHR-SYD (with en route stops).

Re-TheScratchingKiwi, that's the problem with non-reverse herringbone or diamond business class. No seats are equal in business class. As for the bags, I later realised the agent put SFO as the destination for my check bags. It shouldn't or couldn't have happened normally because it'll automatically show my final destination on the agent's end; but I actually volunteered to move from UA29 to UA1 whilst at Vancouver still (flight was overbooked). The agent earlier may have broken up my itinerary into two separate trips. Re Alex, oh yes they are still flying the un-refurbished A380 (2-2-2 business class) to LAX...

On long haul flights over 10 hours cabin crew are legally required to have breaks. That is why on long haul flights after the first meal service they disappear for ages. There is always snacks and drinks in the galley. Just help yourself

Isn't it marvellous there are now flatbeds in aeroplanes? I remember when you had to sit up all the way - even in First. Also there were no lounges or showers at aerodromes. Consequently one arrived feeling like a worn out old dishrag and smelling like a pole cat! 😂
