United States: 8,000 migrants travel to southern border as election looms

Around 8,000 people are reported to be making their way up towards the US-Mexico border from south and central America, as the Biden Administration looks to pressure Mexico to curb record-breaking migrant numbers.

No other latin country has a land border with the US apart from Mexico. So I find it very strange for two reasons. 1. Why do not the migrants stay in Mexico? They don't even speak English, but most speak Spanish (I assume)? Would not it be easier for them to get a livelihood in Mexico? 2. How exactly are they entering mexico? With valid permits? Or with the implied promise of not staying in Mexico? If so, is mexico facilitating this trafficking? Should not they have some accountability here?

En estos últimos años, puedo decir que ha habido un poco más de control, ya que si no tienes los documentos que te proporcionan al ingresar a la frontera de México, se te prohíbe subirte a cualquier tipo de transporte. Actualmente, también se está prestando más atención para evitar que las personas se suban al tren. Se están tomando medidas, pero el flujo de personas sigue aumentando, y la situación se complica al no tener los suficientes recursos para manejar esta situación. Actualmente, hay muchas personas varadas en diferentes partes de México, ya que no se les permite avanzar hasta que tramiten sus documentos. Se está haciendo un esfuerzo, pero no creo que estemos completamente preparados para este gran flujo de personas en la situación actual.
