Good for you Ensign, the Naval Academy is just one of the many paths to a great career and the greatest adventure in your life. I did it the hard way 33 years from E-1 to O-6 but it was the best darn life anyone could imagine. Don’t get discouraged, always follow the best leaders, map out a course for personal growth and professional development, listen to your Chiefs but stand by your convictions and you will do fine.

Congratulations! When my son got his commission a few years ago (Army ROTC) it was the proudest moment we as parents ever had. It's going to be a challenging but rewarding career but you can do it. My son's honeymoon ended when he was put in charge of his first infantry platoon and the demands and responsibilities of the job fell on him like a grand piano. LOL

Congratulations and Godspeed! I am so touched by how your parents are so amazingly proud of you. My son recently graduated from high school. He applied at the US Naval Academy, but despite his academic and extracurricular excellence he was not admitted. However, he hasn’t stopped working to make himself even better. He did not let this hurdle put him down, in fact, it gave him an even clearer picture of what he wanted to be. To be a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. I pray each night that God will answer my son’s prayer s well as mine. Again, congratulations on this big accomplishment! Go NAVY - EX SCIENTIA TRIDENS

Congratulations to Maria and her entire family. I have more respect for graduates of Military Academies over those who attend regular colleges. Cadets have to be well grounded, dedicated, goal oriented and dedicated. They understand the importance of leadership by example, a important trait, that helps build teams.

Watching this video reminds me of PEARL HARBOR, although I never went to see the ARIZONA, I was very much aware but my uncle worked for the ADMIRAL and wanted me to go see him I remember talking to my dad that the cook left and the ADMIRAL need A CHEF because he knew that I had worked for GENERALS and sometimes I think about it but I always wanted to work in NYC and I don't regret it, but I was in the ARMY

One more "woke" officer. Long past time to close down the military academies. ROTC/OCS produces more officers, of the same quality, for far less money. Academies came into being when very, very few could go to college. Now anyone can go to college. Save the money.
