I am the right-rear marching midshipman in this movie! The story of the movie is in the Capitol Gazette on Jan 27 2015. I was interviewed by Tim Prudente. I want to identify all the midshipmen in the movie so I can tell them about the EMMY award won by this film. Please spread the word among the classmates of 1962,63,64, and 65! I have only notified 2 of these folks so far. Mark was the 10yr old star, who is the son of filmmaker, who was the president of Washington Video Productions.

The Captain in the steps is Sheldon Kenny 41, then commandant then later admiral . After retirement he was the Superintendent of the SUNY New York Maritime college in Bronx ,NY. I met him there in old clothes working on his boat in the boat shop around 1980 and did not know who he was…

Loved this video. Fun to see how the Academy looked back then. Still looks grand!

Opening scene: Marching in town not on the yard. Service dress blues uniform with white gloves. Going to church or synagogue. At that time all mids were required to go to church. There were main stream Protestant services and Catholic on campus but for anything else you formed a church party snd marched to go. Supreme Court ruled against that and no longer required to go.

Really? An Emmy? Wow - back in the day when you let your kid 'free range' around town.

My Annapolis kids were "free range" back in the 70s & 80s. No problem. Never thought twice about it. All the merchants on the streets (Maryland Avenue, Dock Street) knew them well. Fortunately, they couldn't get away with a thing if they tried.
