Bit of a tangent here, but when Jack says that the US has the Great Depression and that UK didn’t, he’s technically wrong because I do believe that during the Great Depression, almost every country in the world, including the UK, we’re also in their own depression, maybe not to the scale of the US, but there’s definitely was one.

You are right in fact many times the US has a depression or recession they have had one as well. In the 1970s we had high stagflation kind of similar to what we do now and it affected many countries in the world UK and US included. The early 1920s was a horrible depression for the UK as well and in fact many countries were struggling paying off loans with the big one who never completed their loan payment until the early 2000s I believe being Germany. That was due to the destruction of ww1. Also after WW2 the US economy boomed but the UK did not at least not for a little bit. They entered a recession of sorts until Europe recovered. So Jack isn’t the most educated on the topic when it comes to his own country but honestly he knows more than most British teens it seems so I wouldn’t hold too much against him
