oh Swedish mechanics are there together with communications specialist and all other types of military. Those communications specialist are the ones that got 2x Iskandar missile on their heads in Poltava military school. News agencies were pretending it was women and children getting hit (and that most likely could have happened but they were not the target).

Les usines qui produiront ses véhicules en Ukraine sont supposé être ouvertes d'ici 2025. My impartial opinion is the CV90 is he best, purely because it's a very recent design which includes far more modern elements has a better main weapon, but to say the Bradley was being designed as far back as the 1960s it's a fantastic vehicle. Part of its brilliance is in its versatility and ease of adding modern weapons, targeting systems and armour tylored for specific missions. It's like the F16of the ground.

If the Ukrainian military had all the tech that the US military had the war would have been over a long time ago. They adapt and overcome. They have to learn so many different types of weapons systems so fast as their life depends on it. If your country was invaded you would want all and any weapons too. Ukraine needs all the support. That clip about the Marders is at least a year old, since Ukraine's received 140 of them by now. The fact that we've barely seen them or the CV90's is a sign that Ukraine is keeping its best IFV's safe for when offensive and counteroffensive opportunities present themselves, like in Kursk.

The 120 is good but its a tank as it loses the infantry carrying capacity. The beauty of the CV90 series is the modularity and how it can be so many different things, but I think the CV90 MK IV with the 35 mm would be more appropriate and useful in more situations. Wouldn't mind them having both types, but given limited resources I would focus the IFVs as IFVs and tanks as tanks and have Leopard 2s and Abrams on one side and CV90s and Bradleys on the other.

I have to agree with@@AlexAnteroLammikko . 8 out of 10 times an IFV is the better tool for the job. And in the remaining 20% of cases you‘re way better off using a proper MBT. There are uses for vehicles like the CV90120, but they are limited to the situations in which an IFV is insufficient but a proper MBT isn’t available. With proper planning this is typically either the case in very small militaries that cannot justify a separate tank platform or in expeditionary forces that cannot justify the logistics footprint of a proper MBT. Neither is applicable to Ukraine‘s situation. Thus it’s better to spend the available resources on MBTs and IFVs.

@@RichelieuUnlimited arguably having a low cost fire support platform with the same supply train as your IFV's you can get more vehicles on the same budget with less support personnel. Yet to see anyone bet real money that it will work though.

I have been following this since Sweden and the Netherlands gifted all of those CV90s to Ukraine. What’s certain is that Ukraine has kept the CV90 in more of a supporting role, for medivacs and similar tasks. Meanwhile, the Bradley has been sent on numerous missions and used more regularly. The CV90 has been involved in some missions, but nothing compared to the Bradley. Originally Ukraine only got 50 cv90’s so it makes sense for them to use them more carefully. 🇸🇪🦅🇺🇦

During the cold war the west-german Bundeswehr owned more than 2,000 Marders, today most of them are sold all over the world or scrapped. 120 Marder were delivered to Ukraine so far, but there are probably not much left in the stocks.

the Bundeswehr wasnt/isnt underfunded/underequipped, as we know now for certain the russian army was/is a paper tiger which couldnt compete with NATO forces on any level ... Ukraine had only a small fraction of what NATO has and still gets only a tiny fraction of what NATO spends on its own forces, yet it still manages to fight the russian army with favorable odds/casualty ratios and now even went to invade russia itself after years of conflict. So stop this nonsense of NATO/Germany being underfunded / underequipped, this never was the case since the end of the cold war. This new arms race among NATO members is a fearmongering scam just serving the arms industry and absolutely goes beyond what anyone would need to secure NATO. You have to be really terrible at math to look at the numbers and claim that NATO hasnt enough / wouldnt invest enough in its military. If we were smart we wouldnt have to increase our own military spending at all, simply directing a portion of that spending directly to Ukraine (rather then only giving the old stuff we replace) would fully cover what is needed to defeat russia and that investment would still be far less then what we spend right now.

The Marder were also already in the phase out at the Bundeswehr. It is also being phased out in other armies, where they are replaced by Lynx, Puma or CV90. The Bradley is still in use in the US though and the replacement project is still in the early development stage. Btw, the Marder was already due to being replaced in the 1990s with a planned Marder 2 heavy IFV. That was then cancelled after the cold war ended. So it is that old, but still much better than the Russian crap.

I disagree with the criticism regarding the 40mm cannon’s limited rounds. While it may have fewer rounds loaded, I’d much rather have a weapon that packs a punch than one that merely irritates the enemy. Take the Puma, for example. It's an impressive machine, but its 30mm cannon, though capable, won’t do much more than temporarily obscure the enemy’s vision. it won’t deliver a knockout blow. Both vehicles are effective, but they serve different purposes based on their armament. Moreover, I’m pleased that Ukraine received the CV9040C. It’s one of the few early 2000s variants that boasts excellent protection and armor, with added mine protection and robust frontal and side defenses. Ultimately, debating which vehicle is superior is akin to arguing which caliber is better. 5.56mm or 7.62mm. Both have their merits, depending on the context and the mission requirements. 🇸🇪🦅🇺🇦

To say that the Bradley was “truly battle proven” by Ukrainians is a stretch. Bradleys destroyed more vehicles in Desert Storm than any other armored vehicle. More than Abrams, Challengers, Warriors, AMX-30s, etc. The Bradleys then were less advance than the ones Ukraine was given. No piece of American tech given to Ukraine needed to be “tested and proven” by Ukrainians.

It is true - but same time not true. As one man said that the fight of the Coalition against the Iraq Army was a fight of a proffessionel heavy weight boxer against a 12 year old bully. It is proven that in desert storm more US soldiers died trough friendly fire. So actually it is true that the real test is right now Ukraine - because the Russian have equipment that is sometimes UP to Date. So now the Bradley truly had to show his worth and it looks like he is doing fine.

The Bradley and Abrams are Cold War era vehicles meant to fight the Soviets in a European war. This is that European war, with the piss-poor descendants of the soviets. Kinda makes sense that the desert wars/coin conflicts aren't the right area to prove a vehicle not meant for that environment or conflict. However it is well proven in the combat it has seen under the American flag, as you noted. Just leaving this "both sides ya'll" here

The Bradley is by far and away the best due to its excellent and accurate fire control and optics. The gun and optics is established and has computing capability for attacking moving targets whiule on the move. Marder is a much older IFV in the process of being replaced, it lacks a stabilized turret. CV90 could be the best but early versions given to Ukraine lacked the stabilized gun.
@jonny2954
@jonny2954 16 күн бұрын
The CV9040 in Ukraine have stabilizers. The early Swedish Army vehicles without the stabilizer were all upgraded. The Marder actually has the best armor out of the three. Bradley has the best gun out of the bunch. The 40 sucks as IFV armament, manually reloaded in 8 clip magazines. Even the unstabilized 20 on the Marder is better because once stationary it fires between 880-1030 rounds per minute.

@@jonny2954 The CV9040 has a 24 round magazine, three stacks of 8. But I remember reading an article half a year back where a commander was asked what was best: 20mm, 25mm, or 40mm cannon. "Whatever we have ammunition for."

Marder is the far oldest(1971) western IFV and lacks gun-stabilization,the 20mm RH202 has a very high rate of fire but lacks of course the armor-penetration of larger caliber guns. Armor and night-vision divices were upgraded over the last decades,but the armament not. The german company KUKA offered a complete new turret with fully stabilized 30mm gun,independent commanders-periscope,state of the art night vision but imbecile german politicians and military- bureaucracy refused to acquire it. I think you are right, the Bradley has proven itself as very useful.

There's one caveat here: there are insofar lots of publicised M1A2 Bradely battlefield videos, one Marder video from Kursk Oblast and none of the CV9040. Of course that is what I have watched and can recollect off the top of my head, but that is in pretty good comformity with reality. I wonder if the CV9040 is not seen performing missions on the battlefield due to logistical issues or some political constraints.
@2.Cuzzzz
@2.Cuzzzz 9 күн бұрын
No, the CV90 hasn’t seen as much combat action as the Bradley. While it has been involved in some missions, it hasn’t been deployed as frequently. The reason Ukraine has chosen this approach is likely due to the CV90's greater value and more advanced technology. They are preserving these vehicles for strategic purposes. Additionally, it’s important to remember that Ukraine initially received only 50 CV90s, so their limited numbers make them even more valuable. In contrast, the Bradley has been available in greater numbers, which may explain why it’s seen more extensive use in combat.
