As a "good American" I'm not supposed to like Che, but in my 55 years I've seen that he did truly care about the poor. Since USA's "Corporations" don't give a d@mn about the poor then we were supposed to not see the good that comes from a truly caring man if his aims might damage Stock values in the USA. So, if you love Money you should hate Che, but if you care about people then you should Love him...

Che is bigger than communism. The mistake most people had is to think he just care about spreading communism, when in fact there was a time that he opposed the Soviet Union because he saw it as another form of imperialism. Communism and socialism in america, for the most part, has been rooted in the native peoples way of living. He saw how un-check greedy capitalism from the US help displaced the poor and helpless from the lands. At the end of the day if you leave in a society where justice, freedom, and opportunity are enjoyed only by the rich and powerful. Sooner or later people like Che will emerge.
@historicalhindsight11076 жыл бұрын
Che most certainly isn't bigger than Communism. His entire adult life was predicated on violent revolutionary struggle; Marxism-Leninism was his effective religion, he ultimately died for it. His opposition to the Soviet Union only came after Khrushchev reneged from nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis; he was perfectly happy with Moscow's imperialism when it was stationing nuclear missiles in Cuba. Communism and socialism are 19th century European constructs that most certainly weren't rooted in the indigenous cultures of the Americas. The most substantial indigenous civilizations in the Western Hemisphere: the Mayan, Aztec, and Incan empires were politically authoritarian, socially hierarchical, and economically coercive. Human sacrifice and bondage were far more central to their 'way of living' than the socialist voluntarism advocated by Che. European contact only inaugurated the replacement of indigenous empire and colonialism with a foreign one, which banished certain indigenous cruelties and replaced them with others. Of course, peasant communalism, particularly in central and South America, has and continues to be integral part of life in many Latin American countries. But, there's nothing culturally unique about subsistence based agricultural communities having commonly owned resources, nor do those unconscious customs constitute socialism as Che would've understood it.

Even his walk to the podium is powerful in itself. Che Guevara isn't just a hero for what he did but he's a legend for what he stood for. America convinced the world Che was evil, had him assassinated and thought that was it. America is still afraid of everything Che Guevara stood for. Much respect and love for Ernesto Che Guevara. May his legacy live on!! Aboriginal Australians look at Che as a warrior for his people & justice. 💪🏾

FYI, his name was Ernesto Guevara. He was Argentinean of birth; there, is customary for people to address each other as "ché," meaning pal, dude, friend, man, girl, so in Latin America we tend to nickname any Argentinean as "ché" adding the given or family name afterwards. In Chile there's a cartoon character called "ché Copete." The UN should have a little more knowledge of the basics of Latin American culture.

The history of South America is similiar to that of the United States, white Europeans came and destroyed indigenous people. Che is of ancestry of these white Spaniards who colonized Argentina and degraded and disenfranchised the brown people of this continent, this is why Bolivia and Peru were formed and why Argentina is one of the whitest countries in Latin America. He knew this and had a heart for the indigenous which is why he sacrificed his life in order to unite and fight for past mistakes

Right or Wrong, if you look at this mans story, beyond the murders committed in Cuba, where he came from, his beliefs, he went from being a student , a traveler, to a revolutionist , all the way up to speaking at the UN and getting a standing ovation, is something to be respected. Che was and is something one can lean on for motivation by saying, you too can have a voice, you too can make a difference, it’s a matter of what you do with this voice and power once calming it. Was Che deceived by Castro? Was he deceived by other countries? Was he deceived in believing in one thing ultimately changing to another? The main goal is to fight for what you believe in and knowing it is JUST, and to create a better place in wake of the turmoil and oppression. I salute Che for many things.

If Latin America had more leaders like Che and less leaders like Batista, Pinochet, Noriega, Trujillo and the likes of them it would've been a much better place today.
