De Ligt is also an intelligent boy, he went to the same (pre-university) school in Amsterdam as Bergkamp. De Ligt also speaks fluent German and Italian. And of course he learned English, French and Latin at school.

My only worry with De Ligt is that he is still going to be one of the clubs highest earners & when we get UCL it wil go back to £260k/week which if hes injury prone is a worry. But, if Maguire & Lindelof are going then he would be perfect and then there is financial room. We do need leaders and will have Martinez, Dalot & him in that back line hopefully shouting at players & conducting the line.

Mathjis De Ligt is undoubtably a United player. The leadership, the personality and the willingness to get stuck in is so important. De Ligt and Martinez is on paper a really interesting pairing. Not to mention we've got the potential to sign Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte. This feels like its performance focused instead of a brand signing.

I don't think think his issue with injuries is as bad as many make out. I've no worries there. Signing De Ligt would just add another leader to our ranks a CB that is very good from playing out the back same with Martinez. If we can get Yoro aswell that would be awesome. De Ligt isnt like Maguire. He has much better agility than Harry and a quick short burst of pace. He is also great.at.progressing the ball through the lines instead of short and sideways. If he's fit, he would be a really good signing, price and wage dependent.

From everything I’m hearing about what was going on at the club, with players basically telling Ten Hag that they will train how they want and play how they want, I’m excited to see what happens this season when he’s got proper backing. I reckon this Sancho situation is all smoke and mirrors also, it shows strategy and intelligence on United’s behalf.
