If he didn't and he shot and scored you would be here saying why didn't he try to block it. The penalty was unfortunate, he didn't put his hand to the ball and it wasn't over his head. Mistake but no disaster and i can show you videos of the favourite defender of all time doing the same in the past. It's weird how fans judge players these days.

Arsenal need a Striker, a creative midfielder and a winger. As much as it sucks Saka being out, I'd much rather Arsenal go out and purchase starters in the CF and Midfield. Saka will come back and if Arsenal strengthen their attack through a WC striker and a WC midfielder I think I they can get through this period without any waste. Basically the forwards are not being clinical but they are getting chances. 3 XG against Newcastle and couldn't hit a barn side door fuck it. Get a striker in to convert some chances, play more centrally and direct. Get a midfielder in who can pump chances through to the rest until they become good, play them back into form. Now there are some GOOD strikers available. Creative midfield is a bit thin but there are some AMs on some good numbers and it might mean getting in a player who isn't a starter week in week out but can offer Arsenal a different look.
