If i hear fans doing a Rashford with Kobbie (like KG, you can't even listen to KG) and give him what he wants talk i'll be pissed. The club have signed some dreadful contracts recently with Mount, Anthony, Casemiro and Rashford but you can't use that as a reason to make another mistake. We can't sell Mainoo but his only 19 so we can't give him more than 100k as he will come for improved terms in 2-3 years and before you know it you have a 23 year old on 250k. You mention Kobbie is a starter run him the money but lets be honest when Casemiro and Eriksen leave now or in the summer their replacement will start ahead of Mainoo.

Casas and eriksens replacement won’t be starting. Most likely we sign 2 10s and one young DM and Bruno drops as part of the pivot.

@@Handled7 Time will tell but when Amorim came in Kobbie wasn't his first choice. As a club we will need 4 to play the 6-8 positions so we will buy replacements and we won't be signing players ready to sit behind a 19 year old. If you think so i disagree and time will tell.

Mainoo contract should be no more than 60k. He's done nothing to warrant more money than that. Established ballers at different clubs are on just a bit more and worked their way up. Like rangnick said, players need a pathway to earn the big bucks

This is exactly what happened to rashford we gave him big salary and end up dead weight in our club. I think mainoo should get 60k and fight to earn more in the future when Manchester United challenging for league titles and champions league

There should be a generic basic wage banding across the PL. A player would then choose their desired clubs. Bonuses can be independently set from the club & agent ( player) when targets are reached. Stop these vile agents getting wealthy for just talking.

Those contracts were given pre INEOS. The club is cash strapped with a huge number of the first team players on ludicrous wages that don’t warrant it. Mainoo doesn’t deserve those wages based on a good half season last season and an average one this season.

Amad is different to Rasmus, all the things he does now well, we had seen glimpses when he first came in. Rasmus has good attributes but he’s very poor in other - first touch, link up and aerial ability. He’s never shown positive glimpses. Rasmus is also the same age Rashford / Martial was when they both had 20+ goals each in a season. Few wanted them sold then!

call me crazy but, could it be possible that the club deliberately put out there that any player is sellable(regardless of if they are or not) in order to put the fear of God in these players. for far too long, players at this club felt comfortable, this is something that reuben mentioned himself. I don't think its crazy to speculate that even if the club deems some players as "the future" or "unsellable", making the players feel like you could be gone in a heartbeat if you don't perform is imo, a good way to keep them on their toes and to also weed out the bad apples that would still not give their best to stay at the club. if you know you are disposable and you still don't perform then you need to be on the sell list as well because being at ManU clearly doesn't mean much to you.

Sell Casemiro, Eriksen, Shaw, Lindelof, Evans, Mount, Antony. We must keep our young players, they are our future and we must protect them. Amad, Mainoo, Garnacho, Yoro and I would also include Rasmus are all young players who must be kept and who we must count on. Rasmus never gets the ball to him consistently in the game and so how does he score? I bet if we learned to serve the striker more consistently Rasmus would have no difficulty creating chances to score more often in the game. With a very simple equivalence, that if we create more, we would consequently have more opportunities to finish and score more goals. In addition Kobbie is staying here, he is a boy from the club's youth team, he is a United fan, he loves the club, he is not a boy who wants 200K, his agent does, while Kobbie is a humble boy, he is staying here.
