Hi. Andy Had your excellent book delivered by Amazon on Thursday morning. Read up to the chapter on Pat Evra, but had to go to bed. So, I’ll resume where I left off after your webcast. Been anticipating the book since I heard you mention it and I ordered it several weeks ago. Think it’s terrific - not like any other football book I’ve read. Dalot was shockingly bad for the Ndidi chance. He was the last man out wide, with a perfect view across the line. But he was three yards behind the rest of the defence. He's having an ordinary season

Just to being the devil's advocate here- but there is a problem with having 3 out of 4 defenders who are very keen to get tight and make snap tackles and that means Dalot is having to hang back because invariably they will get played around at some points in a match at least once. Now unless Amorim wants to play a very high defensive line, I think we're gonna have to accept it's better for at least one defender to think something will go wrong with De Ligt/Martinez hunting in midfield and there'll be gaps to cover. Occasionally Dalot will look like an idiot because of it, occasionally he'll be there to mop up and noone will notice the CBs mistakes.

Ugarte was MOTM. Amad was good but he wasn’t our best. Feel for Zirkzee, given no time as per. But there’s 100% a player there. His passing is impeccable, showed it again yesterday. Just lacking in the box, strange one

Wise words on Garnacho. I’ve seen all sorts of c***ts giving him shit. Saying no pace, can’t finish , can’t run at players. Seriously? He’s 20. He can do all of the aforementioned. Young players are generally inconsistent and frustrating. As you say judge by the fans in the ground. Jonny well worth the 10. Can’t believe he was getting stick from Leicester fans. He was quality for them. So good to see him back at United and surprise most people with his performances. Top lad, Top Red.

I thought Ugarte was very good and he now gives me some hope that he can really contribute to United improving. Possibly United's best player in this game. I don't know how Amorim is going to get goals out of Rasmus and Zirkzee, but hopefully he is a miracle worker.

Really worried about Hojlund and Rashford , cant see rashford being integrated into Amorim side going forward Hojlund Amad Fernandes Ugarte Mount Mazrouri Garnacho Martinez De ligt Yoro United will need a lot of work rate in that midfield at least initially I dont think Mainoo has the workrate, but I possibly see him playing further up the pitch in the future

If you ask me, INEOS should not keep Ruud at the club. As much as I would want it, the distraction would be too much. What they could do, is give him another job within the group. Pipeline him to manage Nice or Lausanne. Begin to build a wider philosophy and pipeline among the INEOS clubs.

It's a shame for everyone concerned, he looks finished. I thought he looked focused and motivated at the beginning of the season and that he'd maybe turned a corner but yesterday's performance was terrible. Mentally he doesn't look right, whether that's just a confidence issue or something deeper I've no idea but either way he's not producing the goods and hasn't for a long while. If Amorim can get Rashford performing it'll be a miracle. Ineos have to find a solution to this Rashford problem in the summer, get him a move somewhere for everyone's sanity. 😂

Rasmus works very hard but rarely gets a ball / 'pass' from team mates . The ' flick ' by Bruno against Brentford sowed what he can do . Both Amad and Garnacho are always more likely to go for their own scores .

It was a great overall performance. The casimero & ugarte pairing seems to be working. Ugarte was excellent tbh. I’d say pretty much every player, played well. One or two, not. But it was an enjoyable game to watch.

Many of the bloodthirsty hordes that vent their anger and frustrations online are unfortunately inside Old Trafford on matchdays. The young players like Garnacho can hear their moaning and groaning and booing, These youngsters have grown up with and are almost addicted to social media, and if they have not recieved the United Academy education from a very early age they can find themselves susceptible and wounded by it all. Having said that, we have seen in recent years the careers of academy graduates like Lingard take a serious hit, and Marcus could very well be on the verge of throwing in the towel. In decline since the infamous Southgate penaltygate. Let's hope that we don't force Garnacho out because he's about the closest we've had to a certain George Best ever.
