I was ordained on October 10 2016. The way i found the ULC was through my older cousin i knew she was studying seminary courses for a while, but one day when i was on social media venting about feeling misplaced in life, she ministered to me, and she shared with me her experiences being a member of the Church and told me this was the church that ordained her. I immediately started looking for anything i could find on the internet that spoke of the church, i wanted to know everything. Ever since i joined I've felt a peace and calmness I've been looking for. The Universal Life Church has helped me become a better version of myself for the woman i love and our three daughters. Well said, Amy! I am proud to be a ULC minister and work alongside people who love all for who they are and what they believe like yourself. Blessings to you and your ministry in this world of uncertainty and hate. Let us be the guiding light what is good in the world and let our legs not stop in our endeavors. Blessings, Rev. Zach Dunn

I grew up in the church but my experience was filled with a ton of abuse which lead to a professional PTSD diagnosis. I just submitted the form for the ordination today and although it started out as kind of a joke, I am finding that it can be very healing to be able to take on the title of a minister and make it my own thing. This has given me the motivation to look into my own beliefs and learn more about them. It has also given me a reason to research different ceremonies and even consider leading ceremonies someday when I get better versed in the practices. Thank you for making ordination so accessible to people with such a loose definition that they need to fill and thank you for creating an environment that is so open to everyone.

I became an ordained ULC minister in 1999. My route was from becoming a Reiki Master (Reiki means universal life energy) who helped others heal and learn more about wholeness and ultimately their own Divinity. Jesus said: "The Kingdom of God is within you." and I think ULC is aligned with that fundamental Truth. I like your attitude and commitment to loving others in His name without reservation or judgement, Amy. The Master also said: "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Let's practice that!

Personally I think there is a great balance to ULC. That is why I chose ULC to become ordained. I do my best to keep my beliefs out of my work, it has nothing to do with my service for the Divine. I also appreciate the messages you send out. They bring a smile to my face and yes it seems you have been peeking because they are always on time. Just tells me the Divine speaks through you. Bless you and thank you.

Hi Amy: I grew up in the United Church of Christ and I also studied with Baptists. I have a traditional understanding of Christianity. However, I appreciate your stance. The ULC seems to strive to be an inclusive church and practice what it preaches. As a newly ordained ULC minister I love the idea that we are granted the freedom to follow our calling as we choose. I have often said to others, "I believe in God, because I believe in Love, because God is Love." What do you think? Amy, you are truly unique and I am looking forward to representing the church and embarking on this new chapter in my life.

I'm also an ordained minister with the Monastery (8th, August 2015), as well as having been recently ordained as a minister again with the ULC located in Sacramento, CA. (August 11th, 2018). I'm not sure if the ULC in Sacramento, CA., is affiliated with the ULC in Modesto, or with Amy's ULC group. As far as I can find out, there is no (or are no), Law(s) which forbids a person to be ordained as a Minister (or even have (or hold), more than one set of Ordainment Certification Documents), by more than one church.

Bravo! Thanks, Amy. You have uploaded a 9:13 video to KZbin that demonstrates the love that you profess. The way that you make reference to other religions without malice or any hint of bias toward a one view over another is perfect. One Tree, is how it is described to us as children, and it cannot look the same to everyone standing around it, and yet they all stand around the same tree. That is the Creator, or God if you will.

I love and respect this, Rev. Amy. I am a Ordained Minister with the ULC. Many people have treated me the same as they have you. And I hope everyone finds peace. There are many religions, and as I've believed for many years, God does not punish anyone, Yes I believe God will Judge them, but- Hell is only a Heven for sinners. (Meaning), When a person lives their whole life doing bad, or miss treating people, only to get a kick or laugh out of it, their rightful place would be in Hell, not as punishment, but as a place that they could have their joys and kicks to the selves. Same for Heaven, if your happiness comes with seeing people smile, and love, and peace, you will be sent to Heaven. But, I am not one to just believe in one religion. I have studied my whole life, and I sadly am not the best when it comes to doing "Good", But in my soul I am learning, how to evolve into my surroundings. Just because there are many different, great and wonderful religions, does not mean for fact that any one of them is better or worse then the other. (To his, his own), But from what I get out of religion, is so much more then having to be forced or judged to pick just one. When I met God, (what ever form, shape, or way), that is the day I will forever never have to worry about anyone judging me, or making fun of me. (Even though I'm sure, the God that is watching over me, laughs quite a lot at the weird things I have been known to oddly do), but I know he still watches over me and protects me. With many Blessings, to you and yours--I am rooting for you and this church! You have much honor and respect from me! I absolutely L-O-V-E- this, for the Good of all Good Kind! Blessed be, Your friend, Rev. Shawn Dwayne Blankenship.

ULC ultimately believes in a person's right to determine via their conscience what right and wrong entails and thus each one of us can be a "minister." It promotes diversity, respect for others and in that respect if your personal faith is to hurt others, the religion is opposed to it. It advances education, supports religious ceremony (including marriage) and opposes breaking the law. It is more open to things than some belief systems like prayer or titles though one need not accept them.
@jamesgossweiler1349
@jamesgossweiler1349 6 жыл бұрын
It seems that the core doctrine and belief system of the ULC appears to be there is no actual core doctrine or belief system. In an easy-to-learn, one-size-fits all description, "What the ULC believes is do whatever is right as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others" (1:22-1:26). Problem is, search as we may, "what is right" and what "other people's rights" might actually be are intentionally never defined anywhere. However, drawing heavily and purposefully on Christian sartorial archetypes, the presenter choses...with seeming calculated psychological reason...to present herself visually as "ta da" a Christian minister, pastor, or reverend. Which way to the merch table? Be that as it may, the good news is that with ULC ordination, you'll be able to legally marry people in many states. The bad news is that you may not garner much respect, praise, admiration, or be recognized as a religious authority of any kind with only a mail order certificate in hand. Once the truth is revealed you risk appearing silly...or worse yet...dishonest and disrespectful. Buying a mail order "ordination" for a couple bucks is the religious equivalent of military "stolen valor." Just one man's opinion.

Kudos Amy. Every one of the thousand+ religions think they're the sole holder of the truth - they can't all be right, but they could all be wrong. In an age where we see such religious decisiveness and horrible acts being justified in it's name, its refreshing to see not all religions embrace Exclusive Piety. I so much appreciate what you and others are doing to promote inclusion, goodness, and love.

As most protestants go: a "church" is simply a group of people together for a spiritual goal. Their "minister" is merely someone that those people in that church appoint. Those groups may have certain requirements such as a college degree or seminary degree, and even those are usually religious ones and thereby setup and accepted by those people. So if ever there is a question about being a "ULC" minister then all you have to do is actually minister to people, form a study group, you can even dump the ULC part altogether once that is started because it is the church group that ordains you.

I was ordained 2/24/2022 and I didn't expect to take it as seriously as I do seeing as I'm an atheist but I have always believed we should do right as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else. I haven't seen proof of a creator deity but I wish to feed people. If there is a creator deity that will be enough. My passion is to feed as many people as I can and I would also encourage blood donations.

This is so heartening to hear.... too many of my friends have been hijacked by a dogma, that doesn't allow them to see other humans as part of humanity, - unless they follow the 'rea'l christian way.= the only way to be..... which is exclusive of most of humanity, and human rights. They're so restricted, that the only way to enable them to psychologically fit in and make peace with the with the world (according to their doctrine, ) is to ensure the world abandons individuality, self governance/exploration, acceptance and goodness, and comes over to their restrictive club. This video was 12yrs ago...... things have become much worse, and evangelism according to strict dogma, is now the new coloniser in struggling communities and nations. I hope ULC still has the same inclusive sense of humanity, and hasn't succumbed to the pyramid scheme style, franchising of faith to build an army for a tyrannical, fear inspiring deity. Thank you!

Persecutions by Religious Dogma I am an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church. I hold the ordainments (as well as the certificates, and credentials), of the Universal Life Church (ULC), through both the Universal Life Church Monastery out of Seattle, Washington, of which the headquarters offices are located in Seattle, Washington), and also through the Universal Life Church Ministry in Modesto, California (of which the headquarters offices are located in San Jose, California). Both of these Ministry’s are exceptionally fine Ministry’s. Two on-going, never-ending problems of which has dominated the main-stream religions of the world, especially since the beginning of the Christian religious era, has been (1.) That none of those religions want to allow the freedom of choice by individuals in religions, religious beliefs, or religious preferences. (2.) The out-casting and persecution of all individuals of whom are not, will not by force, and intimidation, or will not voluntarily become a member of that particular religion, congregation, church or religious sect, and then will be (either openly, or covertly behind the scenes), persecuted by those religions, their religious leader’s, and the members of their congregations. (3.) Insisting upon a individual attending a College, a University, or attending a credited school of Theology before allowing an individual to become an ordained minister, and/or allowing that individual to officiate at, and perform wedding ceremonies, or open a church and become the official minister or pastor of a church. In fact, one main-stream religion won’t even allow an individual to officiate at, or even perform a wedding ceremony unless that individual is an ordained Bishop of the church. There are at least three of those religions this pertains to in general. I will not mention the names of those particular main-stream religion’s, or churches, as they know who they are even though they won’t actually own up to it and admit to actively doing it. The problems pertaining to this out-cast and persecution scenario lies within the religious Dogma of the main-stream religions and their continued way of thinking. With most religions of the world, is the fact that they are all so full of their own particular Religious Dogma Propaganda that if an individual person either refuses to believe in that religion’s particular religious belief’s and their particular Religious Dogma, and belief’s, or that individual doesn’t want to become a member of that particular religion, or church then that individual is automatically cast out, and deemed an out-cast, and they insist by behind the scenes back-yard/over-the-fence type gossip that, that individual is a spawn of Satan the Devil, or at the very least is being controlled by Satan the Devil, and so therefore, neither that religion’s congregation and/or their religious leader’s will no longer want (or have), anything to do with that particular individual. This religious out-casting will also normally be carried over, and not only directed at, and towards that individual, but also at, and towards that individual’s family members as well. I have many times down through time over the years, found both myself, and my family have been subjected to this type of out-casting and persecution treatment because, either my family, or I myself would not go to a particular church, or would not switch over to that particular religion and/or it’s religious Dogma and/or beliefs. But of course, when openly confronted about these issues, they would openly deny it. However, I can personally quote, several occurrences in my life of where these issues have taken place in the past, and some of which are still taking place even until today. There are only two cases in which I have found that has not performed this out-casting, and persecution scenario. (1.) The Wiccan/Pagan Religion, and (2.) The Universal Life Church Ministry. Those are the reasons of why I have personally chosen to switch over to and have became an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church (ULC) Ministry. The Universal Life Church Ministry is a non-denominational church of which couldn’t care less what an individual’s religious beliefs, or religious preferences are, as long as that individual believes in god, or any religious belief. To them it is an individual choice and preference. Yes, I could change my mind and walk out today, and yes, they would be unhappy about the situation, but they would accept it as being my own personal choice of preference and let it go for those reasons. Once again. To them it is an individual choice and preference, not a sin against God, or a particular religion, or church as do the other main-stream religions and churches insist upon thinking and believing. Nor have I heard that they out-cast or persecute an individual for leaving the Universal Life Church Ministry due to their own personal preferences. If you are one of those whom insist upon the Religious Dogma of out-casting and persecution of others just because they have their own individual religious preferences by personal choice, and have no desire to become part of your own church, religion, religious preferences, and Religious Dogma then Wo unto you, and may God take pity upon your soul and eventually point you in the right direction. As so any of those main-stream religions love to point out, and quote, “May You One Day See the Light”. Out-casting, and persecution of others of whom have their own personal religious preferences, and beliefs gains you nothing but bitterness, and hate by others, and especially by those of whom you out-cast and persecute. Remember, God loves one and all no matter their religion, religious beliefs, their religious preferences, what church they belong to, or where they worship, even if it is in one’s own home. May God Bless each and every one of you.

Yes MINSTER Amy great I applaud you. It's funny that the ULC is formatted the way it is. Causing all this craziness, then the truth lies where ? In the heart like it always been. "Whichever you believe you may conceive." Yes I agree it always was, still is a minion and 1 way the give thanks to the creator which name one may profess. The forgot the root word of the ULC Universal= all over, everywhere there's breath. Life= breath, death, which in turns is uni- verseal. No matter race, creed, ethnicity. Church=The word "church" derives from the word "Circe". "Kirke/Circe" was also the name of a Goddess. Kirke or Circe was the daughter of the Sun god. Now if you want to get technical the etymology of the word tells all tells. No I can ruffle some feathers. Did you ever ask yourself what do church mean ? Where did the word derived from ? I know they told me it's a place we gather to worship so to speak. Every word have it's own (his-story or her-story) history. Always remember that...

Respectfully, the Christian truth (and I know with other faiths as well) is that no matter what our background, imperfections, or even faith system is, God DOES love us all deeply and more than we could ever fathom! I’ll spare the Scripture references for now, but the thing is along with that love comes His deep concern and being offended/sad for us when we behave in ways that, short or long term, hurt ourselves and others. This is biblical sin and is undeniable when you take a look at the injustice and suffering in the world. And since he is the definition of perfection and universal order, that sin must be judged and punished which is why he came to earth as the god-man Jesus to 1) sympathize with our weakness showing us he is a very personal God 2) show the ultimate LOVE by paying for our sin on the cross, and earning salvation where we are made perfect as well IF we accept this free gift (Believe me, I too struggle with the concept on a daily basis). This “absolute”in faith definitely seems close-minded, however there are undeniable absolutes in the universe: the existence of gravity, 2+2 must equal 4 and cannot equal 5, etc; so naturally there are also absolutes to the one who created this universe containing such absolutes. There are also secular and historical findings as well as the harmonies of the Old and New Testaments between writers living centuries apart such as all the OT prophecies of the coming messiah being fulfilled in Jesus Christ of the NT. Though a challenging path, the benefits for our lives come in trying to life a life with Jesus through His Holy Spirit helping us practice unifying and edifying biblical teachings. Some examples are: making attempts to serve the needs of others over our own, showing kindness peace self-control etc (the “Fruits of the Spirit ”), trading our burdens for the “yoke” of Jesus which his yoke/burden is light therefore we have the opportunity to do first so our part and then let things go and not live in the stress and bitterness (Think of how the world would look if we tried to live by these examples of biblical teachings). I come in love and am here for anyone wanting to converse. ✌🏻

I became ordained through UCL about a week ago, after research I regret it, I had an email from them about an only fans girl who believes in God, why…what is the reason, the reason for the church is to make disciples not to make you feel comfortable, Jesus has been the only way in the past, and he will continue to be the only way , Simply put Jesus loves everyone yes, but that doesn’t mean he loves what is hurting us, he asks us to lay down our selfish desires not pick them up, Jesus was counter cultural, ask yourself this, if we as UCL accept everyone, then that would conclude they are cultural…already we have gone wrong, Jesus is the answer not comfort, Jesus is the answer not your feelings, Jesus is the answer when life is going bad, Jesus is the answer when we lose a loved one, Jesus is the answer, God bless you I hope whoever reads this can find The Lord

I will begin by saying I am a Christian. With that being said I believe that God gave us all free will. Therefore I must respect that all have the right to their own beliefs. I only ask that others also respect that I too have the right to my own beliefs. If we all could agree to that then we would not have a problem at all. Jesus chose 12 different men from different walks of life to follow him so they may continue to tell what they witnessed long after he was gone. He could have chosen a single scholar or scribe, yet he chose 12. I believe he did that so that we could hear or read his lessons in different ways from different perspectives; and he did that so that his message could reach the greatest audience. Jesus came to deliver a message not just for the people who saw him face to face but for generations to follow.

Jesus claimed to be the only way, so what you said about God sending people to different areas throughout history telling a similar story makes no sense really.. As you stated in the video, God is big.. more accurately he is sovereign over his creation.. he has made himself known through Christ and despite the persecution his Word his been preserved throughout history

I don't want an inclusive church. I want a church that is true. If you say you are a Christian then Christ is the only way to salvation. How will love bring salvation? Where do you get your sense of right/wrong? From the Law? From your parents? from where?
@AmyLongkenpo
@AmyLongkenpo 10 жыл бұрын
I understand. You want something exclusively Christian. There are plenty of those around. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding one that suits your interests. Personally, I do what's right because it's the right thing to do. If it causes harm to another and/or deprives someone of a choice, then I likely will avoid it. It's really that simple. Are my thoughts/actions/feelings based on love? If I only avoided 'bad' things because I feared not be saved, then am I really making the choice? It becomes a choice based on fear, not love. Good luck with your search.

Who's right/wrong? God's? Not Harming someone? These are OK but how will this provide for your salvation? Almost all beliefs realize the need for salvation. What happens to someone when they die? Jesus can save you but how can a works or philosophy save? Please see Ray Comfort's vids on KZbin. I wish you the best.

The Popularity of Online Ordained Ministers A couple of the main reasons that Online Ordained Ministers are becoming more popular this day and age is because; (1.) A lot of people want to be married, but due to the problems with a lot of the Main-Stream Religions is that they are still using old fashioned, out-dated, religious Dogma and Discrimination practices (especially when it comes to discrimination practices towards women). Most Main-Stream Religions (as well as their Clergy), doesn’t care for (like), people who are not of their own church, congregation, religion, faith, or denomination, so they will usually shun them if they think they can get away with it, and will do so with many different excuses. Such as being the case that when two people want to be married, each individual may be of a different religion, faith or denomination such as one may be Catholic, the other may be LDS (Mormon), or one may be Lutheran, and the other one may be Southern Baptist, or one may be Protestant, and the other one may be Seven Day Adventist etc., on down the line. It’s even worse for those who are of the Wiccan, and/or Pagan Religion and also those who are of the Gay and/or Lesbian movement. So because of that reason, a priest, pastor, rabbi, etc., who are of the Main-Stream Religions may (or will), balk at, or even outright refuse to perform the wedding (marriage), ceremony for that couple. - (2.) Another reason is that people no longer want to have to sit and listen to the clergy of the Main-Stream Religions shoving their boring Religious Dogma, Gospel, Scriptures, and Doctrine down their throats, or the clergy of those Main-Stream Religions badgering them to switch (convert), over to their particular Religion Faith, Denomination or being coerced (forced), into going to that particular Religions church and congregation before, during, or after the wedding (marriage), ceremony. - So that couple will seek out, and turn to an Online Ordained Minister which is a legally ordained Minister, and recognized as such by law (even though the clergy of the Main-Stream Religions try to disagree), in most, if not all of the states in the U.S., and in most countries around the world, which will perform the wedding (marriage), ceremony, and will normally have no qualms about doing so, and will usually not try to shove any boring Religious Dogma, Gospel, Scriptures, and Doctrine down their throats, or start badgering them to switch (convert), over to their particular Religion Faith, Denomination or insisting upon coercering (forcing), them into going to that Online Ministers particular Religion, church or congregation before, during, or after the wedding (marriage), ceremony. - (3.) Another bad example is that almost always at the end of their sermon or badgering when an individual doesn’t want to switch religions and so states that fact, the Main-Stream Religions clergy will utter the words of: “May You One Day See The Light!” Most people don’t want to hear that, as most of them have already seen the light….. It’s the light of their own particular Religion, and have absolutely no desire to switch over to another religion other than their own.

Your church appears to be a good basis for a church where people can retain their personal beliefs and not be torn apart for them, or scared into believing otherwise. Unfortunately if you look at 911 and how our U.S. government and the media completely played on the public's fears, turning us into nodding sheep, well that is what fundamentalism is like. I hate to say it, but my own brother is less close to me due to differences in religion. We used to be close before it! Neither one of us smoke, drink, do drugs, steal, cheat, abuse our fellow man, or lie regularly...shouldn't that be good enough? I think it is.

Jesus came to alleviate our suffering. He walked a path of peace and love. Why is it that many, many of the wars fought have Christians fighting? Why is it that many wars were fought in the name of Jesus? Christians, it seems like it is time to wake-up and walk the path Jesus laid out for us. If Christians around the world truly believed then there would be no wars fought in his name, and creating sorrow and pain and spreading fear would simply cease. Wake-up and heed your brother's words.

The truth is everyone in the world needs Christ Jesus because the whole humanity has fallen away from God doing there own thing. God is not God by your feelings description, God is what He is seek to know Him.

The skepticism comes from the fact that you dont seem to have any basis in reality for the foundation of this organization. If people keep talking to you about Jesus its because they're trying to spare you the punishment reserved for false prophets.
