This comment is not about this video. I just had to tell you I finally tried your refrigerator rolls and my family voted them the new go to roll recipe. We were so excited about the recipe we were immediately finding ways to use it in other stuff. Our new family favorite is to use your cinnamon ring recipe and exchange it for ham and swiss, broccoli cheese and chicken, pizza filling and roast beef and provolone. we serve all these with soup. Thank you so much.

You could use parsnips in place of the carrots. They re white, lightly sweet, and are a member of the carrot family. We use therm in soups all the time as a lower carb option to potatoes. Turnips work well also.

Americans don't use enough parsnips! They are delicious!! 😊

When I was growing up, my grandmother frequently read me a book called Stone Soup. This reminds me of that book! A little of this, and a little of that. What a great way to clean out the fridge/freezer/pantry. Thank you both, and Happy Thanksgiving!🙏♥🦃

Oh my goodness..... the possibilities are endless. Plus these soups would be sooooo good freeze dried then reconstituted with broth to your desired thickness. Plus you can add freeze dried meat like chicken chunks for more protein. Thank you I just loved this video. And I just love you and Jim. I have watched every single video.

Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing your techniques & ideas! You are right - roasting veggies brings out caramelized flavors of the veggies. I make veggie broth & sometimes can it, sometimes freeze. I’ve found that the broth is greatly enhanced when I include leek tops and parsnips along with the usual onions, carrots, celery, etc. Anna Thomas’s “Love Soup” is excellent.

Did your split pea with ham. Forgot to add the ham and pressure canned for 90 minutes per your recipe. Some recipes said 70 to 75 minutes i uses your time. Two jars siphoned about one inch and two siphoned half an inch Will they be okay? It did get thick. I'll be adding ham upon opening and heating up. Thanks for the recipe and your thoughts on my first time canning soup. Have a grand thanksgiving 🦃 day

I have a question. I put dehydrated veggies all together to make a soup. I cooked the soup down and realized I had too many carrots in it, but anyway, the split peas I never could get real soft. I finally puréed it all, and it made a beautifully creamy soup. How can you get split peas or split corn soft? No matter how long I’ll let them boil or simmer , 😊They never did get soft, which is why I puréed all of it.
@dg65705 күн бұрын
Have you tried to pressure cook them? I tried and it works great for us. I toss in the split peas, an onion, grated carrot, chopped leftover ham, spices, and cover with plenty of broth. Hope this helps! Blessings to all!

@KitchenFairy615 күн бұрын
Probably not because of how thick the finished soup is.
@SpaceLanderGirl5 күн бұрын
