Such a great idea!!!! I'm going to make up some jars for my little grandangels for Christmas. I had to laugh when I went to the allrecipes site featuring the one that was persnickety in the order of ingredients, though! I'm a business writer and old editor; details seem to flash neon at me. Did anyone else notice the instructions to end with flour but featured a picture with flour on the bottom???? 😉😊😄 THANKS Dr Pam! And thanks to Dr Jim for being such a willing taste-tester : )

Addd some nuts to fill in the space on the cherry cookie mix. Chopped or slivered almonds would be good. I love butterscotch chips in the Cowboy cookies .. and walnuts. Thanks for sharing these great recipes in a jar ideas!

I love doing these and giving as gifts. I even found vanilla powder to add in that makes it easy on the recipient. You can’t assume that everyone has it on hand. I think a basket of these makes a lovely gift. I need to have these on my pantry shelf for those cravings for a homemade cookie batch but I usually have frozen balls of homemade cookie dough that allows me to take out as many as we want for always warm and fresh cookies on demand.

YES! These are going to be in my pantry and for gifts. Thank you, Rose and Jim. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. ♥

This is a great idea! I would probably layer the jar different. I'd first put in the add INS then the flour mix then the sugar....that way I could mix the egg+butter+vanilla, then beat in the sugar, then mix in the flour , then the add ins, just like you'd make regular cookies. You're right about the size of the egg could throw off the recipe but personally I would add a little bit more butter because water might make the cookies come out cakey and I much prefer a gooey cookie. I'm definitely going to try this!😊 Thank you!!!! 💕💖❤️

Good Morning, wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving. I am fairly new to your Channel and loving it. I have learned so much and appreciate the science, correctness, detail and kindness you and Jim have shown. Thank you. A quick suggestion on the used lids. I use painters tape from the hardware store to label everything! If the jar/lid is dry & room temperature, they stay put through many washings and also peel right off. My roll of painters tape and a sharpie are constantly used in my kitchen.

Also butter powder.

Also I was thinking that maybe the reason the cowboy cookies weren't sticking is because you melted the butter instead of putting room temperature better are chill better whatever the recipe called for. These look really good.

How long are you going to store the mix with the cherries? What is the chance that those cherries mold?
@itscommonsense3128Ай бұрын
Most cookie recipes call for the sugars to be creamed with the butter (and vanilla) prior to mixing in the rest of the dry ingredients. What if you mix the white/brown sugars then put in a little baggie. Could tie the baggie to jar with a ribbon. so that it stays separate for mixing and also prevent brown sugar from hardening. And in the case where jar isnt quite big enough, make more room for the other ingredients.

Pam would there be moisture in the brown sugar that could lead to molding? I was thinking maybe the brown sugar should be left out and just added when you're making the cookies? Also should we vacuum seal these jars
@danniemcdonald7675Ай бұрын
Don't vacuum seal sugar or salt. They turn into hard bricks that even a hammer won't break up ( ask me how I know 😊).
@simplydivine5053Ай бұрын
I wonder if you could add powdered egg & butter to it instead of adding the egg & butter later. You’d need to add the extra water, but that seems easy enough. I just don’t know if those 2 products are ok to have stored in a jar without going bad. Does anyone know?

Under the video is the title. In this case it says COOKIE MIX IN A JAR. Then, under that it will say how many views, and to the right of that, will be the word, MORE. Tap on the word MORE and it will bring up a side bar on the right. You will see a printed description which also ends with the word, MORE. Tap on this second word , MORE and it will bring up links to all the recipes. You will have to click on each individual link to see each recipe. Hope this helps. I am on an IPad so don’t know how different it might be for you, , but similar I’m sure. 🍪
