52:48 sloth paleontologist here! Based on fossil track ways and biomechanical models giant ground sloths probably had an average speed kinda similar to cattle, like Nelly said. Secondly the avocado story about sloths unfortunately wasn't true. Studying distribution patterns and the like there's no correlation between sloths and avocados. They did spread other plants, especially Joshua Trees, just not avocados.

Headliner Scarlett is one of my favorite cards in magic, period. It has won me 3 locals. I think it is not nearly as ubiquitous as it should be. To me, I react to drawing the same as hitting Comet or Laelia, that's the level of Game Takeover it can have.

For the sake of Serge's concern about pronunciation: The list of ACR cards that actually depict real people is incredibly short. Characters like Basim, Ezio, and Arbaaz Mir are entirely Ubisoft creations. The only real person who showed up on one of the cards they reviewed is Alexander Graham Bell, but his card isn't even named after him, just being "Loyal Inventor". I still get not wanting to butcher names derived from other languages and cultures, but if you're worried about butchering the names of real people, the only cards you need to worry about from ACR are Mary Read, Anne Bonny, Leonardo DaVinci, Sokrates, and Cleopatra

@@kinaantaha139 True, but Serge's reticence was specifically about real people's names, not just real names. Magic has been using real names for decades. Chandra, Gideon, Jace and Liliana are probably the most obvious examples (I don't think Nissa has much wide spread use, but maybe her, too).

The cultures represented are real even if the characters aren't. I saw a lot of people treat Ratonhnhaké꞉ton like it was meaningless gibberish on the level of Ambassador Blorpityblorpboop when there was work done by cultural consultants to represent the real persisting culture of the Mohawk people.

One card you didn’t talk about in White, which I absolutely think is worth the mention despite being very narrow in its application, is Senu, Keen-Eyed Protector. It’s an excellent addition to W legends variants, in my specific experience RW legends. It’s absolutely a playable card on base rate, but it adds a lot of high-roll potential to an otherwise pretty flat variance aggro deck. The highest of high rolls is exiling it to your Gemstone caverns then playing a haste two-drop on turn 1. But it’s also great to exile of Laelia or Inti, and it’s very funny to exile from your graveyard when escaping Phlage. It was in my winning Auslander Boros Legends deck I played in a win-a-library in November.

Ok so I totally get why you put ravnica clue here but I dont think it technically counts as universe beyond csuse it takes place in the magic universe. That said it's a spin off product featuring a different ip so I'd say that's good enough even if it technically isn't a ub product

Also I'd love to note i love how dedicated surge is to the food deck even if my personal experience playing a version of canlander food on wheelers discord in the canoander league had me feeling so mad and frustrated Ilcause my only win was getting the buy. Anyway I've since gone to mono red and not looked back

@violetto3219 i definitely think the deck has some legs although I think my mistake was not trying to make it a dedicated combo deck as opposed to playing it more midrange like. That said I felt so frustrated from my personal experiences playing the deck where I probably won't be touching it again for awhile

Serge did the same thing 😂 if you don’t watch North 100 Showdown as well he brought Food Combo in a fairly recent one. Seemed okay, but he didn’t know his lines well enough to pilot it anywhere near optimally. Still lost all his games but at least one they talked about how he had the line open but GSZ for the wrong thing.

Honestly I'm not on board for Pre-War Formal Wear's flavor, not only does it not return you from the dead in the fallout games, but it in no way gives you anything resembling +2/+2 and vigilance. By discarding your armor and wearing it, you lose all your protection and are rewarded with like a CHA+1. I think it would have been a lot cooler to have art of Veronica being stoked about receiving a nice dress.
