University Hospitals expands urgent care network across Northeast Ohio | Sound of Ideas

By 2026, U-H plans to open three dozen new urgent care centers in counties across Northeast Ohio.
Coming up, we will talk to represenatives from University Hospitals about their ambitious plan and why the pattern of healthcare appears to be changing.
Later, one pressure on the healthcare field that may be impacting both facilities and patients: the shortage of doctors and nurses. Surveys conducted by professional organizations have identified a number of factors driving the shortage including an aging workforce and younger workers leaving the medical field due to dissatisfaction.
