@markd3570 U of T is ranked 13th in the world in Technology. I don't see University of Illinois anywhere close.

yes. 100 points on TOEFL is not hard. To be honest, Waterloo is more competitive than U of T. I had myself applied to both. Waterloo has a better curriculum for any engineering program.

@zen5678 Or maybe because UofT has really high standards for their students and if students cannot meet the institution's standards then the inadequacy lies within the student and not the university!

Just learn things Unversity doesn't matter because of no one care. What we care about as programmer is better software and apps. or whatever you do. Just make your clients happy that's it.

@jumbo1402 UofT has a huge international student population and I've personally made great friends with a lot of them. Most of them don't speak English as a first language but a lot of them speak the language better than I do. I don't think UofT rejects international students because English isn't their first language but you do have to have a good grasp of the language to do well.

U of T's English proficiency requirements really aren't all that strict. This is evidenced by the many students who actually really don't speak English very well at all. If anything, the undergrad program at least would benefit greatly from making the requirements more strict - it is honestly tremendously frustrating to be put on a team with someone who cannot write or speak English. It's a bit of a problem with TAs and even some professors as well. They're mostly great academically though.

u of t is always finding the way to reject the international student, just because english is not our first language.

No it's because international students prolly have the reputation of having inflated marks.
