Did u or any of your friends join FLCs or Ones programs? If so do you think it was beneficial and in what way? Also is it possible to keep up with extra curriculars/ side projects with the work load at U of T (I’m going into the CS stream).
@RichardHan4 жыл бұрын
Great question, so I was part of FLC program (but not ones programs) and I thought it was pretty beneficial. It gives you tips on how to survive your first year and it also gives you free food sometimes. Its a great way to meet more people in your program and get to know more upper year students. I also managed to keep up with school while serving as the first year representative of my college and an intern for RCSA. So I think if you manage your time well you can keep up with both extracurricular activities and school (but you might have to give up your social life😂😂). I hope I was able to answer your questions and if you have any further questions please let me know. I wish the best of luck to you in the future!

How much harder is it for international students to get accepted into UofT? I do the IB but I don't know if the course will give me a better chance into getting accepted
@RichardHan4 жыл бұрын
I am not quite sure if being an international student puts you in a disadvantage in selection process. I would guess it's the same amount of difficulty for both international and domestic students to get accepted and as far as I know IB definitely helps you when you are studying because you can get a transfer credit and you will already know some of the materials you will learn in university. I don't know if doing an IB will improve your chances of getting accepted but as I said it really helps when you are actually studying at the university. However some courses you might want to take might give "priority enrollment" to students who are actually in the program so keep in mind of that (At least for Rotman there are certain courses that are restricted to other students). I know a friend who was in Rotman but planned on switching into CS, and he was able to take all the CS courses he wanted.
