Im hoping to get an MSW after finishing my undergrad studies in psychology and french at Concordia University. Watching videos like this makes me feel good knowing that the profession that i envision is thriving and strong but it hurts me and enrages me to see so many ignorant people insulting and even spiting on this profession calling social workers child snatchers home wreckers and that the government doesn’t give them the recompemsation they deserve although social workers are not there for the income but for the outcome they shouldn’t be so underpaid in my opinion they should be pay as high as doctors and lawyers. Yes doctors save lives but social workers save lives too they might not help in the physical health as much as doctors do but they help in a ton of other domains. Poverty, education, mental health and addiction, helping sexual abused victims, domestic violence, immigration and so much more lawyer advocate and defend their clients and so do social workers do so too they even are the ones who risk their lives for the people they help going to the neighborhoods to save the people in need they go and confront reality that the lawyer only confronts in the court Social workers are heros and the deserve so much better
