University of Utah students create 'most advanced prosthetic ever created'

Students at the University of Utah have created a prosthetic so promising, that the world's largest prosthetic company will partner with them to get it into the market.

I think thats the biggest problem, like 90% of the people who actually needs a prosthesis can't get one

This is great news, for people that can afford it or get their insurance company to pay all or the majority of the associated costs. What will be the associated costs of the device and medical installation or integration into the human body be? I’d say it will be out of the range of most people when insurance companies typically will only pay for the cheapest artificial limb

As with *anything* be it phones, cameras, cars, horses, etc. as nauseum, it will cost a lot, but as scaling increases, it will inevitably be affordable to all. Just look at phones, almost nobody could afford it, now everybody can- heck go to the most remote places in Africa, everybody has the most advanced phones! Selling a device for 100k to 1,000 people makes money, however selling a device for 100 dollars, to hundreds of millions much less billions of people, makes infinitely more money. It’s absolutely inevitable. Economies of scales, absolutely dictate it. And those that don’t partake in economies of scale will get absolutely shafted by competition.

Utah Is making the I Bionic prosthetic leg my husband Tim need one in San Antonio tx for his Left leg are they going to go threw insurance company for people be able to afford the leg
