Student housing area needs a couple of bars as well. Someplace to eat and drink and hang out after or between classes.

Don't forget some student-only nightclubs, fraternities, sororities, outdoor benches/tables, and perhaps even a giant bronze statue depicting the founder of the university.

Loved your Altengrad series as I love older European cities. But I watched them all! So thought I'd give Aurelia a watch.... brilliant. The multilevels are superb and the way the trams integrate with each other but don't intersect is so clean and clever. If I had one criticism it would be the walking alleys and courtyards would be very dark at night. Episode #32 with the basketball and tennis courts and steps would be pitch black at night, I don't believe they wouldn't be lit. Congratulations on the city though, I truly admit your skill and design flare. Regards Derek Devon, UK

*bit random but the first second of your video shows central world, which is a huge mall in Bangkok, Thailand, and also like 15 minute walk from my room! lol. Great video and series, mate!*

Obviously Aurelia used to be a gold mining region. They used to mine silver in the nearby city of Agrelia.

Great as always Akruas! This project just connected a lot of the city. And kuddos for the new "opening" shots from an aerial view to the building site, simply amazing. Remembering my college days I would say that the students would much easily go to the "rocky island" to camp and/or party.

Another interesting idea to justify the rivers/lakes/islands could be that Aurelia is a city built on a planet that was terraformed to allow for life, so maybe the rivers were added later and filled in low lying areas, some of the lakes (like the one with the city in it) could be formed impact craters, and it would also kind of help explain how mountainous the region is.

the university reminds me of the time I visited CERN in Switzerland, across the road from the main areas there's a huge kinda dome building with a very similar design

As always a brilliant episode! Personally, I'd like to see the "uglier" side of the city. Despite being utopian, surely Aurelia must have some heavy industry, space center, maybe a super modern trade-hub, or a prison?
@Akruas3 жыл бұрын
We'll do some more industry in #87, I don't really plan uglier areas though, at least not intentionally ugly.
@unknownPLfan3 жыл бұрын
I always thought of Aurelia as not being quite utopian, but it looks a lot like the newer areas I've seen in some of the better-functioning large central and northern European cities. Personally I think it's a good balance of not seeming too wealthy, but comfortable and well developed. Most of these things would seem out of place imo. Though, many large European cities do have a grimy former industrial area with some nightclubs, a punk-rock scene and lots of graffiti by a half-functioning industrial rail yard.

Yes it was released just a couple of days ago, I already built a bit more so won't use it in the next episodes, but it sure is amazing. Yes Discord is open.

can you please make an asset list for aurelia, my favourite city on youtube tbh
@baconwizard3 жыл бұрын
I think he made a point a while ago that he won’t be making an asset list as some of the assets get modified or deleted in the workshop (hence why he has local backups of said assets), so chances are any asset list would come up with a bunch of errors in people’s saves.

I don't really understand why the bridging on the new artificial island with the interchange would be mostly pilons with one "old" style arch design bridge? If they built it all at once on a fake island, would the bridge infrastructure all be the same? Great build, just a though
@Akruas3 жыл бұрын
It's just a different way of bridging longer spans to allow river traffic. Short spans don't matter on the island so there are the pillars everywhere, which would have been simpler and cheaper to build.
