Just did this whole procedure. The oil pressure relief valve can contain shims (not shown here) they go at the bottom of the Spring (at least that's where they were on mine)

There's a different sleeve on my UK 77 roadster It's got holes punched all around the length like a sieve Strong steel item Plus three washers / shims that need to go above the piston valve to ensure flush fit of unit into the gearbox apparently to ensure pressure as it left the factory

@@LeRoiDelaRue there are 3 types of OD 1st gen mgb had D type non synchro. 2 gen had black and blue label OD

WOW! I thought a bad 1-2 gear band would cause the overdrive not to engage when the rpm's were dropped.

Two things: 1. ALWAYS wear gloves and have good ventilation when using carburetter cleaner. The chemicals in carburetter cleaner are toxic, cancer causing, and are easily absorbed by your skin. 2. Carburetter cleaner can distort rubber o-rings to the point that they can become unuseable. Remove o-rings prior to cleaning with carburetter cleaner.
