I know you've stopped doing these, hopefully you'll still be checking the comments. Just wanted to say that I can't thank you enough. These three videos alone have helped immeasurably, and many of your other videos have been invaluable too.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks for taking the trouble to film this excellent instructive video. I now know what I am trying to achieve and have more confidence to attempt it.

It would have been very useful showing us that the oil pump plunger and outer both have to face a particular way round when reassembling- put mine back in obviously the wrong way round and now the whole unit it stuck fast in the hole, probably damaged the housing and very fed up!

Hi John - my oil pump unit didn't come out as it did for you. I got the plug, ball-bearing and non-return valve seat but nothing above that. What should I do?

I can't work out what's happening here .... I take cover off, the cylinder drops out, the piston stays in or comes out with the outer cylinder, then remaining in the unit is a small flared rim which I've grabbed to extract but it won't extract although there's some movement. There was no visible ballbearing in the unit There is evidence of a small ballbearing shadow on the flat top of the piston So I've bought new gaskets and ballbearing and using magnetic flexible stem and the tip of the piston inserted the ballbearing into the unit then pushed the ballbearing into the flared unit and pushed the outer cylinder of the solenoid in But now there is no play in the piston so Lord knows if it will work when connected Might ring supplier before putting oil back in cos even Haynes manual diagram doesn't help
